Beautiful Lodge , my bedroom was stunning with a lovely view. lovely crisp linen. Colin was an absolute star, so friendly, welcoming and enthusiastic.
breakfast was slow, even though there was only three other guests, I did not end up ordering my cooked breakfast as it would of taken too long. Not much staff about to help in the morning, I only saw one lady who I think was cooking and clearing. Visibility of the lodge not great, there needs to be a large sign at the main driveway entrance, even my Uber taxie battled to find the entrance.
Loved the room - it was huge, with beautiful bathroom and grand setting. Rolling lawns, lush garden, quiet surroundings despite nearby traffic. I would stay here any time - the location was a few minutes' drive from the conference I was attending. Felt like 6 stars!
Arrived when it was dark, seriously struggled to find the well-hidden street number. Would do well to hang out a reflective number "56" so first-timers can find the place. Would recommend a little bell (or staff in waiting, but that can be annoying) at the breakfast section to call for service.
Location, friendly and helpful staff.Lovely gardens and pool. A good breakfast to start the day.
Some traffic noise in the upstairs bedrooms. This is due to the thatch style roof which has no sound insulation. It's only a factor if you are a very light sleeper.
Parking area was tight.
Near Cape Town Fish Market Lonehill shopping centre
Very average accomodation; breakfast mediocre; staff ho humm
The staff were amazing- very friendly and kind.
On one of the days, the carpet cleaners were coming in. We were informed a few days earlier, as they were an external company, to keep our belongings locked up. At 12 I was asked to vacate my room as they were ready to do it, that was fine as I was going to a meeting. On my return at 6pm, my door was wide open and all the furniture was still in the bathroom. I had a dinner at 7pm so myself, the cleaner and the security guard, moved all the furniture back into their places, in order for me to have a shower! The staff were amazing, but when I called and complained to the manager that not only that my room wasn't ready, but my belongings were a free for all as my door was wide open, she said that it needed to be done. I asked why they couldn't do it room by room when they were vacant or close the hotel for a night. I was informed it would be too expensive for them. They didn't give any refunds or waive the fee for the night, but kindly they waived the call I made to her to complain! Everything else was great, so it's a real shame that management made that decision, I personally won't be staying again.
very relaxed and friendly place. helpfull staff.
Only gym is missing...
v.easy & friendly. suited us very well.
Beautiful rooms, very cosy and really feels like a home away from home
It was very convienient for us to where we needed to visit in jburg . The staff where friendly and felt very comfortable it wasn't like a big hotel where you can feel rushed and regimented. Although the actual owners where very illusive. All in all very good.
