Nice and quiet B&B with a beautiful garden incl swimming pool, within walking distance to restaurants and shops. Friendly hosts, tasty breakfast.
Stay was too short
A small, quiet place to stay in the upper Franschhoek Valley, near the center of town, but away enough not to be bothered by traffic and other impinging events. The staff are efficient and the manager most solicitous and helpful. Breakfast was wonderful.
Wonderful location + competent and friendly staff + comfort = brilliant holiday destination. I could not have asked for more. The owner is very hands-on and helpful. Premises is very neat and private. Secure parking off the street is a bonus. I can highly recommend this establishment and will definitely return.
Nothing to criticize.
Everything. Plus the help finding somewhere to eat in the evening and the provision of fresh milk rather than 'plastic' when requested.
Having provided rusks in the room on arrival, it seemed slightly strange that the jar wasn't replenished during a 4 night stay.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Delicious breakfasts. Secure parking. Quiet peaceful location yet only a few minutes' stroll from the shops and restaurants.
WiFi was erratic.
Maison Chablis is a great place to stay if visiting Franschhoek. It is located in a quiet street just off the main road, which is full of restaurants. The bedrooms are nicely furnished with everything you need during your stay and breakfast is served in a lovely bright room. The owner/manager is a great host and does everything he can to ensure each resident has a wonderful time. I would have no hesitation in staying here again.
Location, easy walking to most restaurants. James, the owner on hand and most helpful and friendly.
Internet slow and intermittent but that is the only very slight irritation
Very welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble. Fantastic breakfast We will be back
Internet was not working, but that was for whole guest house & not their fault.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Lovely breakfast. Owner very knowledgeable and helpful about where to go and where to eat. Bed extremely comfortable. Great location.
Great location with warm and friendly welcome from Pat, the hotelier. Lovely garden and swimming pool too! Plus the breakfast is very good. We stayed here on a recommendation from a friend in the UK and I also recommend it to anyone. Overall, a stay here is a must.
Excellently maintained and manicured accommodation. James the owner was warm and attentive and nothing was too much trouble. The bird life around the house was beautiful. Perfect surroundings.
Nothing to fault
Franschoek is a marvellous place and should be on everyone's itinery when visiting South Africa, and Maison Chablis is where you should stay! Pat and James are wonderful hosts and cannot do enough for you,we can't wait to go back. Matt Cleveleys uk
This place is so relaxing. The smell of the Jasmine as you lie by the pool. The rooms are fabulous , beds are so comfy. I wanted for nothing. The staff were so friendly nothing was too much trouble. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Franschoek and will certainly go back
Maison Chablis is a gem. James & Pat really looked after us again - nothing was too much trouble - the best was the biggest we've ever slept in :)
All of it
The manager, chased out us because we spent 1 hour over the check out time (at 11h, we left at 12h). He basically kicked us out. Besides, his comments about good old times Rhodesia (former name of Zimbabwe, in the apartheid times) were unfortunate and revealed a racist attitude
Luxurious rooms, spacious with comfortable sitting area, huge comfortable beds and top quality bathroom. We booked for one night and immediately booked a second, even though it meant moving rooms! Very attentive host, nothing too much trouble, great breakfast in a lovely breakfast room.
Lovely room, very central.
Nothing. All good.
They were very accommodating and went above and beyond to help
The room was beautiful and well decorated. The owner made you feel at home and nothing you needed or wanted was an issue. It has a peaceful feel about the place and no noise factor. The breakfast was awesome and the staff were just as great. I would never hesitate to recommend this gem to others. Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable.
James was very helpful with great local knowledge. Room was very clean and the biggest bed we have ever slept in. Breakfast was more than enough.
Wifi was a bit slow.
Great location (walking distance from the main road full of restaurants) in a really safe area, lovely room with a huge bathroom and great breakfast, but what makes it extraordinary is the manager (James)...in 5 minutes he is able to arrange everything for you (bookings to reastaurants, wine tasting...), we had to leave really early in the morning and he also prepared for us a "take away" breakfast...just perfect!!!+++
The staff are very friendly and helpful. Beds very comfortable and pillows great. About a block from the main road which is so convenient and very quiet and peaceful.
