Manaar House  

This lovely place was only about 6 blocks from our friends home that we were in Uhmlanga Rocks to visit. Close proximity to shopping, restaurants and freeway on and off ramps. Owners Jack and Mark were always ready to help with anything you may need. Their right hand helper was so friendly and helpful. A lovely place to stay and we will on another trip for sure.

Could not get on the wireless internet in our room. Had to go half way down walk are to get the internet. But is works. Who cares if you have to move a little out of the unit to get it.

Excellent hospitality from the minute we arrived. Manaar House is immaculate, we had a fantastic room, and nothing was too much trouble for Mark, Jack or Tina. Absolutely fantastic find!

The layout and decoration of the guesthouse is perfect. The hosts Jack and Mark are the perfect hosts. Very helpfull in all things one needs or wants to know. The jacuzzi was perfect!

I love our room. This was not our first stay at Manaar House and we have never been dissapointed. Interior is lovely and the bedding is wonderful. Jack is alsways very friendly and makes one feel welcome.

My wife and I spent a week in Umhlanga in early-January and found Manaar House to be exactly what we were looking for. The B&B/self-catering option we took was perfect and the rooms were a good size and well fitted out. Jack, Mark and Tina were all very friendly and the overall atmosphere was highly relaxed. The location is very good - the beach is literally a 3 minute drive as are all the main shops and restaurants. I can highly recommend Manaar House for anyone wanting a hassle-free break along South Africa's east coast.

Nothing is too much for Jack, Mark and Tina. They dealt with all our queries quickly and professionally. There is a very friendly and relaxed atmosphere at Manaar House and we all enjoyed our stay. We were a large group with diverse interests and needs and Jack saw to all of our different needs. We would definitely come back to Manaar House or one of Jack's other properties.

We had a lovely time, felt welcomed straight away. Jack and Mark made sure that our experience of the area was interesting and effortless. The tips/pointers given on daily basis, made all the difference. Venues of interests, restaurants, locations... Great place, great people......thanks

The staff were fantastic - Tina, Jack and Mark were friendly, helpful and attentive. Our room was very comfortable and the bathroom easily the best bathroom I've ever used. We loved our stay there and will stay there again when next in Durban - not to mention recommending to all family and friends.

Manaar House staff make you feel immediately welcome and nothing was too much trouble whether it was restaurant reservations or theatre bookings. The hotel is very convenient for the beach, beautiful rooms with every amenity. Great leisurely breakfast is offered and I felt I was leaving a home after my stay. There's no other choice for stays in Durban!

Absolutely perfect! Beautiful setting, peaceful and relax. Mark and Jack make you feel at home from the minute you arrive. Won't even consider to stay anywhere else- excellent value for your money. They definitely go the extra mile for their customers.

not far from durban city, not far from the beach, not far from king-shaka air-port, loved it, the best, its not far from the shopping malls and restaurants. its in a quiet area, relaxation is all you get.

The accommodation was clean, well maintained, spacious, well equipped and extremely comfortable. Mark, Jack and Brendan made us all feel very welcome and were genuinely keen to make our stay as pleasurable as possible. Fresh beach towels were offered daily and sun cream given to us by the pool. Lots of small touches that made it feel like home from home. We often took their advice on where to go as they were very knowledgeable about the local area.

We stayed in the larger self-catering apartment that had a good sized, sunny balcony. Unfortunately, the noise from the road made this less of a pleasure to use. This noise was not heard anywhere else in the accommodation, so a small concern overall.

Superb in every way. The only drawback I found was that, without a car, it is a bit tedious to walk down the street and past the motor way to the beach. There is no sidewalk on the road. With a car it is about a 5-10 minute drive to get to the beachfront, various cafes, and stores. If this is not an issue for you then you will be very pleased with the lovely decor, stylish rooms and attention to detail throughout the premises. The service is exceptional and friendly.

Accueil chaleureux. Appartement sur deux étages avec toutes les commodités et très confortable. Vue sur l'océan depuis la terrasse à l'étage. Belle salle de bain. Proche de la plage et de grands centres commerciaux. Idéal aussi pour se rendre à l'aéroport tôt le matin.

Wij hebben een prima verblijf gehad. Wij hadden een appartement voor 4 personen geboekt met een eigen terras. De woning beschikte over een prachtige slaapetage en badkamer. Ook een wasmachine was aanwezig. Dagelijks werd het appartement schoongemaakt. De eigenaren was geen moeite teveel om te helpen bij het organiseren van trips (boot op zee om walvissen/dolfijnen te spotten, paardrijden). Zelfs hun navigatiesysteem werd ter beschikking gesteld om naar een wat verder gelegen manege te rijden. Bij het zwembad werd je voorzien van handdoeken en onze zoons hebben genoten van de jacuzzi. Kortom een prima uitvalsplek voor een bezoek aan Duban en omgeving.

Prettige ambiance. Behulpzame, vriendelijke eigenaar en personeel. Luxe familieappartement, dat zeker aan te bevelen is. Dicht bij strand.

This place was amazing. Jack, Mark and Brendan were terrific and very knowledgable. The location was brilliant, breakfast was nice. We felt like we were part of the family. Will definitely revisit this place again.

Jack and Mark were very friendly accomodation hosts. We felt very comfortable and were very happy. It was close to the ocean and restaurants. We would stay there again.

The manager made us feel at home. We'll definitely book again when needed.

Friendly hosts and lovely breakfast. Room has all facilities and a lovely bathroom. Nice lounge areas around the pool.

The house is located close to a busy motorway and the traffic noise was an issue for us. Our bedroom was small but it had a large bathroom to make up.
