Mandela Rhodes Place Hotel and Spa    

Everything about this hotel which perfect! There is not many hotels which i would say i would want to visit again but this one i will definitely be back to. What make it spectacular was most definitely the service. We probably wouldn't have done half of the activities if we had not had the help from the friendly staff for recommendations and bookings of them.

The staff at the hotel are fantastic , the rooms were spacious and clean. The food and atmostphere at the restaurant was great. The location was perfect . Will definitely stay at the hotel again.

The room needs a mirror

The facilities are great. Having an outdoor pool and gym in the city centre is fantastic. The rooms are superb, especially the ones in higher floors. The studio apartments are especially fantastic value for individuals / couples.

Rooms on the 1st floor are very noisy due to street noise.

The hotel staff were great! Friendly, courteous, helpful - They accommodated my ever-changing schedule, offered great advice for local places of interest, and always offered a warm greeting and smile. Everyone, from checkin through concierge, even the maids...all were very gracious hosts!

Cape town is not the safest city I've been in at night...I Felt apprehensive going outside the hotel at night...ended up taking taxis to various restaurants. However, this did not detract from the overall experience...most restaurants even arranged cabs for us before the meal was ended...awesome!

There was a sense of 5 star hotel, with a home away from home feel. The restaurant downstairs and the good lovers market across the road were both very convenient.the apartment was comfortable and roomy.

The bed was too soft for me.

The spa that is attached to the hotel needs to be re-assessed as they are giving the hotel a very bad reputation. The manageress of the spa was rude and holigan in nature when she was approached to resolve an issue. The issue was then reffered to the hotel's duty manager who said he was going to refer the matter to the general manager the next day....but to date we have not received any feedback....The spa put a whole downer on our trip that was booked for anniversary on 01 May....we did not even attend the pamper treatments that were booked.

We were downgraded due to a request for 2 single beds but we still paid the same price

Central location. Spacious suite. Well equipped kitchenette.

A bit noisy.

The apartment was modern and clean. All that is needed for a stay in the city. Parking was also no problem.

We did not get an apartment with a balcony. Cleaning staff came too early over the weekend. Wifi was not available in our apartment and should be free without a limit of MB.

Everything; there was hardly a fault to be found. The gym and pool were great, the spa excellent, the general decor and irreverence to Nelson Mandela were all notable. The two bed apartment we had was so spacious and well equipped we could happily live there. Master came with full en- suite and second bedroom had a shower room next door to it. On site parking in secure multi story car park for 55zar a day extra, which is about £4.50? Staff were helpful, courteous and attentive. Breakfast was an additional 120zar each, daily and on reflection, while lovely, was posibly overpriced.

Being picky, the only issues we had was that under the table there was a sticky patch where someone previous had spilled something and this was overlooked prior to our arrival and on the day we allowed room service access, and the shower was a little ropey around the seals, but with winter coming i'm sure there will be on the agenda for re-sealing. Not really dislikes and nothing for us to rush to the desk about, but this is what prevented an almost perfect review,

Room was good.

Although we had booked weeks in advance, and requested a late check out at the time (due to travelling to airport late afternoon); the hotel had not dealt with this before our arrival. There was a bag of rubbish in one of the kitchen cupboards left over from previous occupants.

- home away from home atmosphere - gym facilities which I used daily - pool for the kids - perfect location - professional service

- needed to urgently use a toeilet whilst using the gym and had to go back to my apartment

Comfortable bed and delicious food.

The staff did not leave gowns and sleepers we always had to call for them.

Can get bit noisy on lower floors, from internal open spce and road. However, got upgraded to an 8th floor room....which really nice with great view of Table Mountain.
