This 4-star Port Elizabeth guesthouse is just 330 yards from the Southern Ocean. It offers moderns rooms with plasma TVs, an outdoor pool and an open-air dining area. Manor 38’s bright guest rooms are individually decorated. All have satellite TV and a work desk. Each private bathroom is stocked with a hairdryer and free bathroom amenities. Guests can relax in a lounge chair by the outdoor pool. Newspapers are available in Manor 38’s guest lounge. Breakfast is prepared each morning, and can be enjoyed in the outdoor dining area. Homely comfort, charming staff, great breakfast, quiet location, fine location, safe, secure, in short, very very nice!! Well, if the people in the next room were, let's say, newlyweds, then their activities might be audible from the adjoining room. Thankfully my neighbours were silver hairs, and either knew how to perform quietly, or didn't bother!! Both commendable!!

The place is absolutely elegant, with a clean, modern design to rival the best hotels. Our room was large and beautiful with a fabulous shower and whirlpool bath. We didn't use the swimming pool or breakfast room, but they were very attractive as well. The turndown service with a bit of sherry was a nice touch! We stayed here because we had an early flight the next morning, and it was very convenient for the airport, while also being within walking distance of the beach.

from the minute we arrived at Manor 38 we felt we belonged.Chris was so welcoming and during our stay nothing was ever a problem.Wendy, well she wasnt the lady of the manor,she was more a friend.She was concerned about our safety whilst wanting us to have a good holiday.The restaurants she booked for us were fantastic.All in all location,cleanliness,comfort,breakfasts and most important friendliness were top class,a big thank you to Wendy and Chris,you will be seeing us again..

This is a first class B&B and easily the best of the several we stayed at during 4 weeks in South Africa. From the welcome through to the departure everything was done in a friendly professional manner. The accommodation was beautifully appointed including the facilities in an excellent bathroom. The breakfast was cooked to perfecton and very well presented. The only slight downside of the B&B in the location. We would have preferred it to be a little more central but this was not a big issue.

The house was beautiful; comfortable, lovely decor, tastefully furnished. We had the healthy breakfast which was extremely tasty and well presented. Our room was lovely, large and comfortable with a great armchair for relaxing and a beautifully fitted bathroom. The staff were efficient and friendly and made us very welcome. We wanted somewhere not too far from Port Elizabeth airport and this fitted the bill.

Manor 38 is a beautifully styled, spacious, luxury guest house that certainly didn’t break the bank from a cost perspective. The breakfast was excellent and set us up perfectly for the long day ahead. The lights were out in the hall although the electrician had been called out to fix the problem.
