This 4-star Port Elizabeth guesthouse is just 330 yards from the Southern Ocean. It offers moderns rooms with plasma TVs, an outdoor pool and an open-air dining area. Manor 38’s bright guest rooms are individually decorated. All have satellite TV and a work desk. Each private bathroom is stocked with a hairdryer and free bathroom amenities. Guests can relax in a lounge chair by the outdoor pool. Newspapers are available in Manor 38’s guest lounge. Breakfast is prepared each morning, and can be enjoyed in the outdoor dining area. Lunch and dinner can be arranged upon request. Packed lunches are also available. Hobie Beach is a 15 minute walk from Manor 38. Guests can reach Bibo Train Station with a short 2 mile drive. The house was beautiful; comfortable, lovely decor, tastefully furnished. We had the healthy breakfast which was extremely tasty and well presented. Our room was lovely, large and comfortable with a great armchair for relaxing and a beautifully fitted bathroom. The staff were efficient and friendly and made us very welcome. We wanted somewhere not too far from Port Elizabeth airport and this fitted the bill.

Staff were very friendly and Wendy made a very good host, made you feel you really were a guest and not just a couple passing through. One of the bigger swimming pools that we had seen on our Garden Route trip and we would have enjoyed a dip had the weather been warmer. We felt that the price we had paid should have included breakfast to make it compatible with the price we had paid for other Guest Houses of a similar quality. Our room also was a little small compared to other places we had stayed at especially as it was described as a 'Luxury Double Room'.

Overpriced as no internet or food included in what is an already expensive rate. Unfortunately for them, the hot water broke so we had to have a cold shower in the morning too!

Manor 38 is a beautifully styled, spacious, luxury guest house that certainly didn’t break the bank from a cost perspective. The breakfast was excellent and set us up perfectly for the long day ahead. The lights were out in the hall although the electrician had been called out to fix the problem.

Nice quiet setting but still only 10mins from the bustling main part of summerstrand. Lovely rooms, friendly staff and the lady who runs it cannot do enough for you!! Oh and excellent breakfast!
