Marula Lodge  

The German couple are lovely, friendly and create a homely atmosphere.

It could do with a light over the mirror in the bathroom

Establishment is efficient and well run. Amenities laid out for guests. The owners were Eager to please especially once they found out we spoke some German.

Nothing to complain about but if we didn't book ahead for a restaurant before arrival, we might have missed eating at the wonderful Italian restaurant.

Nice house with a beautiful garden restaurants are close by and good we can recommend POWELL ( right beside the lodge)

The rooms were located around the pool area. Garden was well kept and beautiful. Pleasant helpful hosts who were on the site and accessible who shared local knowledge. Choice of inside or outside dinning areas.

The wi fi in the room was very poor we had to go into the dinning room for better connection.

Location and lay-out good. Friendly, hospitable service. Comfortable rooms with everything one might need.

One of our number, a single lady pensioner, had the front room facing the road and and found the traffic noise during the night upsetting.

Filip and Marion are both very friendly and helpful hosts. The rooms are very comfortable and spotlessly clean. I would not hesitate to recommend Marula Lodge.

Hotel was lovely, with a really nice pool area. I liked the fact the rooms had a more "African Theme". The town itself was a bit limited for restaurants etc but the surrounding area was very picturesque.

Very friendly owners, very helpfull for advise and travel organisation. Great location nearby restaurants and for visiting the region. Very nice patio. Good breakfast.

No blind curtains in the room, so you have the sun light very very early in the room.

Lovely and friendly as well as extremly helpful hosts. Very nice and extremly clean rooms. Rooms are well designed in an african decor style, that gives an warm atmosphere. Hugh lovely garden with barbecue facilities and very nice pool area. Good breakfast that has been served at the terasse next to the pool.

Although a lovely B&B, it was not really the best place for us with our busy little boys.

We absolutely loved Marula Lodge. The owners and the staff were really friendly and helpful. We had a beautiful chalet, set in lovely grounds. The decor was first class. We would certainly go back and would recommend to anyone. There is nothing we didn't like about Marula Lodge.

Relaxed atmosphere in an area where lots of good restaurants were within walking distance - small shopping mall and interesting town - stopped en route to Knysna

Lovely setting, all rooms are set around the pool and gardens. Short walk to the restaurants/shops. Simple room, but more than adequate. Good breakfast, plenty of choice. And most importantly great hosts

The rooms were a bit chilly, although blankets and hot water bottles were provided.

Nice rooms, very friendly hosts, which were always prepared to help, and did their extreme best to sattisfy everybodies needs! The b&b is at the main street of Swellendam, but as they are at the back, no noise was heard. We felt absolutely safe there. The breakfast was excellent, with a good variety of choice.

I cannot find anything negative. The price was good, for the rooms we got. However, unlike with some other B&Bs I visited in the past, there was no spark here, where I said "waaw, that is a great idea!!"
