The scenery is beautiful and the farm atmosphere very relaxing
Need some maintenance in bathroom as basin was leaking
The chalet was very nice and comfortable.
There were thorns on the chalet floor. No coffee or tea were offered
The isolation and the wide expanse of the Klein Karoo. The rustic look and feel of the house has a very special charm.
The fact that we could not sleep with the shutters open. Perhaps some mosquito mesh in front of it would allow air to flow through at night when it is particularly hot. Somewhere to cool off without competing with the animals
Beautiful, renovated home surrounded by mountains. Peaceful and beautiful
The owners should tell you that you need to unlock the gate yourself when pulling up to the property, or you could be stuck outside for awhile if they are unable to answer the phone!
Fabulous, comfortable accomodation with magnificent views. Barry and Vivienne Meijer make guests feel very welcome and at home.
After a very hectic week, we were on our way to a funeral in Beaufort West. It was the perfect stop over and we would have loved to have stayed longer and will be back to explore the area as it's so beautiful.
Nothing and have already told lots of people about it!
Being on a working farm; friendly and helpful management; peaceful surroundings; good hiking opportunities
Only 1 set of towels pp for 3 days, nowhere to hang towels, only 1 towel rail, no hooks to hang clothes or wet towels in bathroom. Only one hanger in cupboard, no hairdrier, no topsheet on bed, nobody informed us that there were'nt any cellphone signal. The smell of the drains was awkward and didn't even help if all doors and windows was closed. Surely they know that this place is known for its cold so a heater would have helped. Sorry but a disappointment.
Location and quietness
The electricity went off three times during our stay
Location and the owners were very friendly
There are 7 dogs and a goat that are able to roam freely on the property but I wasn't made aware of this once I made the booking. The electricity went off three times in one day.
Facilities are great The location is exactly what we wanted The hospitality is unrivalled
The amazing friendliness of Barry, Vivienne and their two daughters. We went out for supper the evening we were there and were invited into their home for tea. We had a great evening and the facilities are amazing. Thank you Barry and Vivienne
Cottage #4 has the warmest loo in the Karoo-just the thing in winter! Barry and Vivienne, you have a winner there.
The Booking.com map was a bit misleading-Google the position rather.
The surroudnings were so peaceful and so beautifully set in the mountains. The decor of the cottage was lovely! Very surprising for a farm!
The cleanliness of the place was not up to scratch.
We all had a fabulous time and our sons had a wonderful time assisting the farmer. We really loved it!
Arrival welcome and hospitality, surroundings and its location.
Close to nature, privacy and views
Due to the location of the cottage, wood should be provided
1.the scenery. 2.the chalets are very nicely equipped and clean.
1.waited for n half hour before somebody pitched up to help us. 2.no curtains on the front door. 3.farm animals roaming around-goat,dogs,the cat that walked over my car with his mud coated paws, and every animal wants to get into the chalet. 4.fresh cow dung droppings all around the chalet, could not get into my car the next morning. 5.no steps to your braaigrid in front of the chalet.
The chalet was large and spacious with luxurious, modern fittings and tasteful artworks and furniture.. The bathroom was specifically a pleasure with loose standing old style bath, two basins and shower in a big space. We also loved the architecture - a modern farm cottage.
We arrived late at night and there was no outside light to guide us to the cottage so we struggled to find the road and stumbled around for a while!
To stay on a working farm in the mountains - farm noises, smells and views!
