The way they found us hotel rooms when they had no record of our booking We had to wait 2 hours whilst they found us rooms on the Friday night and we had to move to their sister hotel on the Saturday. I booked these rooms in January this year and it was very unsettling to turn up at the hotel to be told there was no booking and they had no rooms available. I do not know where the error lay but it ruined the first evening of our trip |

Great layover airport hotel. Easy to get to with free shuttle. Very comfortable and clean. Lovely breakfast. Perfect for the one night stay between flights. Really a 4 star standard. Very small rooms. Bathroom only curtained off from room which wasn't an issue for us, but would be if you were travelling with a business associate, for example. |

The welcome by the receptionist and the courtesy of your housekeeping staff was outstanding. I exchanged some tea bags for coffee and it was no problem. I also felt very safe there. The fact that i could not watch TV as it had a child lock on. |

Close to the airport and secure facilities. Good choice of restaurants and the buffet breakfast was very good. Rooms were large and well maintained. |

The spaciousness and in the vicinity of casino. A newspaper in the foyer to read while waiting would be nice. |

Near the airport. The noise was terrible. I hardly had any sleep. The room I received was poorly situated and all the noise from the street and renovation kept me awake. There was also a problem with the water system. The tempreture of the shower did not stay constant. Then it was very hot and the next moment ice cold. I could hardly clean myself. All in all a very bad experience for me. |

Staff and rooms very good. Proximity to casino and food outlets was handy. Restaurants were also very good. Lack of power point in the bathroom area. |

I got to the hotel a day early, so had to stay an extra night. The amount I was quoted by booking.com was R985 which I paid for the booked nights, but my extra night cost me R3150, which was more than 3 times what I expected. I wouldn't use this hoteol again for this reason. |

Forming part of the Emperor's Palace Casino and Entertainment franchise, the Metcourt Laurel provided quick and easy access to a wide variety of activities and facilities. The hotel's central location within Johannesburg and its close proximity to the airport provided an excellent platform for exploring and relaxing during our stay. Despite the spatious size of the room, the overall room layout was poor, with a substantial amount of wasted space and dead corners. The choice of furniture and decor within the room was also surprising and although functional, disappointing, given the appearance of the upmarket foyer and reception area - the equivilant of a good first impression that lets you down when you look closer. |
