The taxi that was organized for us charged us double and did not have the meter running, we only realized/ thought it was odd when our ride back from another company cost us half the price with the meter running!
Not much! We originally booked one of the trailers on the roof and within 20secs of being in it requested a real room. I was all up for something different but these were awful. If youre 4ft and like dirty, cramped, noisy and neglected rooms then the trailers are for you!
Staff lack of enthusism Cleanliness Awful view Filthy kitchen Internet connection was dire Zero atmosphere, due to lack of customers It doesn’t know what it is, maybe a new management would help and focus on the basics. There are SO many hotels & B&Bs in Cape Town that are so much better. Just putting this down to a lesson learned and don’t trust hotel websites.
When we complained the duty manager was understanding and helpful. Good location and within easy walking distance to the V and A waterfront and Kloof Street.
We booked this hotel as we liked the idea of the Sky Bar. Unfortunately on arrival we were told we couldn't use it due to a private function. The first floor bar was accessible but was very poorly laid out as though it was undergoing renovation. We had breakfast in the adjoining restaurant and had to wait almost an hour despite being very few customers. We chose to check out after one night and have our second nights stay refunded. Really not worth what we paid when £100 can go a very long way even in Cape Town.
Very helpful and friendly staff. Great hotel to experience Cape Town!
Internet was sometimes little slow.
The friendly staff
The whole experience
We stayed in the airstream trailer park which was great for a novelty hotel experience. The Goldilocks room was fun. Great, cheap cocktails at the rooftop bar. Everything in the caravan worked well including the shower and even the aircon, during a heatwave - it was one of the coldest rooms we've stayed in. Would stay next time but probably in a normal room just for more space (my husband is tall!).
Bed was a very small double, but we knew ahead of time and were prepared. It was a comfy bed and I still had a great sleep. Wifi allocation as 1GB not 10MB as it said, however after the first go it refused to connect on my phone and always asked for the password constantly on my laptop which was very annoying.
Loved the trailer park. Moontide is lovely and spacious. Breakfast was good.
Moontide needs a little attention, it is looking a little tatty.
The fact that it was quite central.Bell boys were very helpful. Staff at restaurant were nice.
Staff at reception were very unfriendly, a female in particular, who tried to charge us for phone calls which we had not made! Although they say wi-fi available, it only works outside the rooms. Rooms are small and bathrooms are very basic. Music from roof top bar is very loud and can be heard in the rooms. Also no parking which makes it quite difficult if you have a vehicle. Not fun to walk 2 blocks down to public car park.
the location is in the centre of all the action on Long Street and close to Greenmarket Square. Trendy decor.
Convenient central location. Decent sizes rooms and bathrooms. Free Wifi facilities. Great attention to detail throughout the hotel and facilities. Excellent cocktails at rooftop bar
AC didn't work properly. Most staff were very friendly and efficient. One female receptionist wasn't. Breakfast was average. Rooftop bar small
stylish, cool, clean, very nice crew, reasonable prices, perfect location
W-lan is a little bit slow
We booked one of the caravans on the roof. It is a cool concept, but unfortunately the caravan was shabby and worn down inside. Not the way to do it. But professional staff gave us a regular room and we had a very comfortable stay.
Struggling with internet. Management had to reset it several times.
We stayed in the John and Yoko caravan and although the pics of the caravan on the website are taken showing it to be larger than what it was, we found ourselves giggling through the experience. A fun thing to do :)
The Idea is great - this hotel could be Funky and fun and maybe it was some time back -but it is tired and sorely lacking in management.
caravans on the rooftop, super cool!!
a bit noisy
The hotel is in a central location, perfect to explore the cbd.
The rooms are tiny considering the amount paid. The breakfast options could be improved.
