Offering deluxe accommodation and the possibility to experience whale-spotting, Hermanus Guest House is just metres from scenic cliff paths and rock pools.
Score from 265 reviews Excellent
The Windsor Hotel offers spectacular panoramic views of the ocean and the opportunity to enjoy whale watching, an absolute Western Cape highlight, from the comfort of your sea-facing room.
Score from 222 reviews Good
Ideally situated on the cliffs of Hermanus, boasting a phenomenal vista of Walker Bay, this guesthouse continues to retain the elegance of colonial architecture.
Score from 162 reviews Excellent
Boasting a splendid setting between mountains and sea, this charming Provençal style guesthouse is set in historic central Hermanus, overlooking the picturesque Old Harbor.
Score from 244 reviews Very good
Good location and organised management.
Very clean Classical interiors Friendly staff Excellent breakfast
It is a beautiful place and the staff was very friendly and interested in us as guests as due to my height suggested a room with a longer bed. Breakfast was excellent. Will certainly come back
not really an issue but it is a bit of a distance to walk from the restaurants at night so one has to drive
Location is excellent. Could walk to the markets and cliffs easily.
Wifi did not reach heritage cottage. Breakfast was very basic. Poor selection of meats. Jacuzzi closes too early .
From the check-in to the check-out this hotel showed itself as a very well run operation. Friendly staff in all areas. The room was massive. A room fridge is provided with the option of a filled mini-bar. Hotel location is perfect, stunning sea-views but a short walk from the town and its amenities.
Our staff rating would have been excellent but for the excessive and intrusive fawning by a senior female staff member during our evening meal in the restaurant. Her behaviour was directed at a couple on the next table and we were made to feel that we were spoiling a private party. I hope they were good tippers because we had to move tables. The meal was excellent by the way.
We enjoyed the spacious room and bathroom and swimming pool. The breakfast was excellent and all the staff members were friendly.
Great value for money, very friendly and efficient staff. The staff dealt with the city-wide power outage well, making sure emergency lights were switched on, and torches distributed.
The plug point in our room (302) that the television was plugged into is (or was) burnt out, so there was no power available to the TV.
Beautiful location & a beautiful town
Location Beds Room Space Breakfast
Dinner was below average
Location - central with beautiful views - walked everywhere felt really spoilt - perfect for a short breakaway with my daughter
Location was excellent. staff very friendly and helpful. Food very good
There was an unpleasant smell in the cottage when the windows are closed
Unfortunately a very brief stay but definitely the best accommodation of our holiday. Very comfortable beds and relaxed professional atmosphere. Delicious breakfast!
Welcoming check in, spacious room and bathroom.Quiet.Good access,
The decor - a mixture of Victoriana and heavy Indian type furniture. If our room had had white paint and lighter furnishings it would have been very nice. The view over the back of other houses.
Location close to town The pool
1.Guests are allowed to smoke in all areas except inside your own room. Guests smoke on all balconies, and all verandas.which means our room continously had people outside of it smoking. Management just rolled up their shoulders. We are lodging formal complaint with regulatory authorities as they are not complying to SA's new tabacco legislation. 2.there was some kind of drain blocked at the entrance gate. the stench was really disgusting.management chose to ignore it, because nothing was overflowing! Really! 3.the frogs that breed in the reedy fountain in front of the cottage, and probably feed off the foul draining pipes.
Helpful staff Great location
1)What you see online is not what you get. The exterior is so not white & bright...... 2)Room 101 is dreary and dark, no direct access to the swimming pool (restricted by indoor garden?!), no sea view 3)They (owners/managers restrict water flow from the showers by inserting a peace of plastic in the shower head (fortunately my husband removed it to get it back to normal - this is just ridiculous in a 4/5 star hotel) 4) Too much views/space wasted by overgrown gardens in the front and around swimming area (get rid of all the creepers/shrubs, etc)
The view from the restaurant. Breadfast was great.
No bath in room.
Very nice hotel, great location and staff professional
the room was very spacious but at the ground floor with no light from outside, that wasn't clear from the description of the website
Reception lady was very friendly and checkin was quite quick and easy. Porter to collect language and take u to your room. Lovely breakfast with lots of variety and very helpful staff. Clean & spacious suite with working aircon and a nice garden view. Pool area was lovely to relax in.
The restaurant was a let down. Rice was hard and calamari over cooked. Seemed to be out of stock with alot of things due to being busy over Christmas which is a poor excuse as u knew well in advance u would be fully booked. The tea/coffee tray not very clean in the room.
The service was excellent, staff was very helpful and nice. The location perfect, just a very short stroll to restaurant and shops. The rooms were, even though not my style, very nice and spacious! The pool area was really nice
The restaurants was ok, but you can find better (and worse) alternatives in town.
Service was excellent and nothing was too much trouble, breakfasts and location of restaurant were superb ! Will be back
Comfortable bed and spacious bathroom. Good sea view.
Quirky establishment. Very poor value for money when compared with 5* in Cape Town. Just a little odd ...
We loved the friendliness of the staff and that it is so close to the ocean. We loved the peacefulness of the place. Breakfast was awesome. We love the decor. Receiving a comlementary bottle of sparkling wine on our anniversary was a lovely touch.
It was our 3rd stay and the first without a bath in the room. We missed the bath in room 401.
Close proximity to town centre was great, easy access, nice view and good size room..with nice crisp linen..real nice location and friendly, helpful staff!
The decor of the hotel in general a little strange and overdone in my view, too heavy..however, our room was newly done and linen etc was crisp and lovely..
Professional staff Location Beautiful place Value
Bed - should have been a double, not 2 singles
not everywhere can you see a view of the ocean like this easy stroll to town centre. lovely touristy town with whales! and lassi on the clifts lovely room
over attentive staff at breakfast
