Electricity failures resulted in wi fi off line and out till next morning when owner reset it. Pool and Jacuzzi hrs unnecessarily short. Might be because neighbours complained cabout noise late at night but 8 til 5 is rediculous.
Attitude, friendly and helpful
A beautiful old house with a nice perfume of warm wood and fresh towels. Very correct and friendly staff.
My husband and I stayed at guest house which happens to be rated as a 4 star accommodation in 2010. The facilities on offer were very poor, in that there was no hot water available in the mornings and evenings, at best the water was warm. There was only two working channels on the DsTV bouquet and the picture was very poor. The inner pillows were stained and this is not very hygienic. The owners of the guesthouse did not provide a receipt evidencing payment. I would not recommend this venue.
I did not realize the room had no windows. I like windows... The bed was a bit small in lenght, but this is with all queensize beds I found out... The gym and spa were closed because they re rebuilding it.
We liked the atmosphere in the house and the staff is very helpful. The location is good, its easy to get into town by car. The room and bathroom were clean and nice.
Have been to approx 20 locations in Cape Town and it is the first time that we have no window in the room. Not welcoming and suitable for business at all..
The TV has limited channels with poor visibility. The mirror should be positioned closer to the plugs for use of the hairdryer (for the ladies).
Very clean and good service. The owner was very helpful.
No windows in the small room which was somewhat boring décor.
Responsive to issues, good location to local/safe eating and downtown Cape Town.
I stayed at Mountview for 6 nights and my experience was very positive. Joe sat down with me for 30 minutes on the first day and explained about the tours, local stores, safety and all other questions I had knowing that it was my first time in Cape Town. The hotel was kept clean at all times and I had no troubles by commuting to the hotel alone. Also staying at Sea Point (quite neighborhood in a shadow of hill and 5 minute walk to the ocean breath) was exactly what I was looking for in this trip.
