All the greenery around us. Perfect staff. L
fantastic setting and view.
Ndiza Lodge is surrounded by luxuriant foliage, animals and birds and smack bang in the middle of the Indian Ocean on one side and the Wetlands on the other. As well as a brilliant location, the lodge itself is so comfortable, clean and welcoming that it feels like a real home from home. We arrived on Valentines Day and they had left special chocolates in our room for instance. The food was wonderful, there are lots of restaurants within walking distance and, best of all, we came face to face with a hippo when leaving the gates of the Lodge - in broad daylight too. We took a walk in the locality along the boardwalk and the beach and saw lots of beautiful birds as well as crocs and hippos in the lake. A truly memorable experience.
The hippos walking past the gate!
Very badly organised kitchen arrangement where the electric kettle is balanced on top of the oven heating elements.
The cabanas interiors are old fashioned and dated. The kitchen and bathroom are particularly so. Equipment levels leave a lot to be desired. The owners do their best but they are working with tired stock and despite odd nice touches they do not make up for the deficits. St.Lucia and the surounding are great. The beaches are outstanding. Resurants/eating places in St Lucia, itself are really fast food standard
My partner and I had the most awesome stay at Ndiza, Sis Ethel and staff were great and very helpful. Loved it!
Fully equipped kitchen, comfortable bed, spacious accommodation, excellent location for walking to river and forest, wonderful gardens behind house, secure parking, breakfast plentiful and tasty
Wifi only available in small area, signal not particularly strong (apparently in all of St. Lucia).
The rooms, The cleanliness, The scents that where all around. The friendly and respectful staff.
Spacing underneath the door in room 3 needs reviewing as this made the noise to easy filter through. We had to constantly use the mat to close it off.
Amanda and her husband Glen were wonderful, along with Ethel who was extremely helpful with tours etc, lovely atmosphere - if we make it to st lucia again i would definitely stay here again
Stayed in a room, not selfcatering. Nice wooden setup.
Breakfast was organised on the wooden deck right above our room. So lots of noise early in the morning. A swimming pool in south africa often has nothing to do with swimming: very small and full with leaves. The centre is indeed walkable, but not in the evening because of hippo's roaming around. Payed to much for what we got and in comparison to other places we stayed.
The cabana was spacious, staff very helpful, and great for seeing hippos.
Our appartment was fully equipped from TV, lounge very comfy bed and a small but very workable kitchen, with your own personal barbaque just outside the front door. The appartment was cleaned everyday the same with the barbaque and shops arround the corner. Gated so you feel really safe, a great way to see St Lucia
Almost everything (see the - points), personal service, breakfast, location, the room
No warm water in the room but that was quickly solved the day after. The sliding plastic door between bedroom en bathroom needs to be replaced by a normal door to really appreciate the fine room
Location Kitchen & dining facilities Good value for money Friendly staff, thanks Ethel! Ideal self catering unit, although we only had breakfast cereals so didn't take full advantage!
Small/tight bedroom & bathroom, just about managed for 3 days, so not a major issue. Wi-fi is very slow unless you position yourself very close to the router in the main reception room. We feel it's an essential requirement when travelling nowadays, so think it needs improving
The cabanas were comfortable and easy to stay in. Enjoyed the quite peaceful nights. Ethel was friendly and helpful.
Found the kitchen lacked equipment (there wasn't even a breadboard). We found the bar/verandah 'unfriendly'. No sign advising us where to go, had to ask one of the guests. There was no barman or anyone for that matter to greet us. The verandah had a party of guests braai-ing so felt a little awkward to say and have a drink to enjoy your view.
Nice quiet surrounding
No power and no water. I know this is a problem in St Lucia as a town. But the establishment could have done a better job with the power by using a generator. They did buy water for the bathroom but did not buy drinking water for the guest.
The staff tried to make the best of it.
We stayed for three nights. During 2 days there was no water and the last day there was a power cut. The pumps of the water tank made quite some noise. When water was brought it was of bad quality (brown).
The Location of the Lodge at the edge of St. Lucia is fantastic with the Tropical forest in the backyard and view to the Indian Ocean. The reception staff was outstanding, very helpful and organises every acitivity you like to do.
The bed was much smaller than on the pictures as it seemed to be substituted (the remaining frame at the wall was about 15 cm wider). The bed had less than 140 cm - 55" and would be comfortable for 1 Person, but not for 2. Furthermore the coil springs came through and so sleep was nearly impossible. Housekeeping is poor as every day something was missing (toilet paper, towels, Cookies). Windows were not closing completly so if people were sitting on the public Veranda in front of our room we could hear every word.
Fantastic setting with a fabulous room. Lovely staff, just amazing atmosphere
Having to leave
Felt very safe, security was good. Staff very helpful and able to advise on restaurants etc.
Really had to drive into town.
Amazing views, monkeys and awesome location. Friendly helpful staff and near the town centre
We booked a room with a view, but found it to be a view of a wall! We were moved to another room which was absolutely stunning with a real view of the garden. Not much privacy here but great for a night or two.
Well situated in St Lucia Dilene at reception very friendly and helpfull Breakfasts good value for money
Falling seeds from trees very noisy and disturbing at nigt.
The assistant manager Ethel and manager Deline were very friendly and welcoming. The room facilities are excellent and hygienic.
Dilene, the duty manager, was great. Very helpful and efficient in booking trips for us from the lodge. The lodge's location is good - just a short walk from the mouth of the estuary and close to town
Alterations were in process, so concrete grinders and saws made the lodge very noisy the whole time we were there. Building upgrades are a necessary evil, but when receiving advance reservations management should have advised that alterations were being carried out so that guests had the option of booking elsewhere. Disappointing.
accomodation wise it was as we expected
the "en-suite" toilet with no door was not really romantic; we were suprised that they only provide tea/coffee/sugar sachettes and toiletries on arrival only, no replenishments if you stay longer than one night
