Staff and access to Cape Town central
Nice and central
It was sometimes very loud Till early in the morning
Staff were helpful. Food was good. Place was lively.
Tha fact that if you can get locked up in your room there's no way to communicate with front desk
No frills breakfast with great coffee included in an already affordable room fee. Yours Truly's great pizza and craft beer make for a satisfying dinner if you don't want to wander too far down Kloof or Long Street. Safe off-street parking and secure rooms.
Towels could be changed a little more regularly but otherwise the facilities are clean and housekeeping makes beds and cleans bathrooms every day.
the ambient is nice, and the hostel is really very good environment. everybody friendly
disappointed about having to pay different prices for the nights I stayed more. support to travelling not really helpful for off-the-trail information (a internet browse would have been more effective)
Laid back atmosphere. Very central and near to restaurants.
Excelletn location, just a walking distance to the best pubs and restaurants, in Long Street and Kloof Street. Excellent staff, always willing to give the best hints on what to do. Every Friday they organize a braai, helping people get together and make friends. Easy to move around the city, either by public bus or taxi.
Lovely hostel for young people with great atmosphere and right in the city where you want to be.
The shower was horrible.
I really liked the overall design and atmosphere of the hostel. Great location. Male dorm was full so they upgraded me to my own room which I appreciated. A lot of places wouldn't do that.
Very nice facilities and friendly service
Location, location, and location. On Long st, there were way too loud, too many drunken party people allnight, and too many beggars. Just little bit away from Long st, Kloof has every night life with more relaxed people and places. Also staffs were so nice and helpful. My favorite was that every room(even dorms) have their bathroom(shower/toilet). We will regret your decision when u get to other hostels where has shared bathroom with millions in line in the morning.
The fresh made breakfast.
The shouwer was not good, cold or burning hot, no way to regular de temperature.
We had i really hot room, and as soon as we addressed the problem, they gave us a fan and a few hours later we got a better and cooler room!
Staff, bar's vibe, spacious rooms, great kitchen facilities, bbq, very good location, food. Excellent!!
+Very friendly and helpful staff +Great location surrounded by many restaurants, bars and shops +Free parking +Young, dynamic atmosphere +We really liked the connected/integrated "Your's truly" bar (great snacks, nice atmosphere - also your place for breakfast (croissant or muffin + coffee/tea + juice or a piece of fruit) We stayed there for 5 nights and came back after our garden route tour for another 2 nights - I guess it is the best place to stay in Cape town for younger people/students
-Rooms are quite small, but with regard to their very fair rates and the great surroundings, it's no real issue
Very nice hostel, especially for young people
I think the average age is below 25. Good place to party but not ideal to rest
The environment and the main bar
Bathroom and bath tup. Water wasn't very easy to manage (always too hot or too cold). Should refurbish.
Location was simply perfect. The idea of the hotel integrated with the coffee shop is nice.
It was the most disapppinting accomodation we had in South Africa, and also the most expansive. We are traveling low budget, so we don't have too much expectations, but this was way too basic. Internet is weak and we had signal only in the common areas, no wifi at all in the rooms. Everywhere in SA you have coffee and tea making facilities, not here. Breakfast was so poor. Staff (with the exception of two guys) is not very friendly.
The location was very central to evening entertainment.
This was the most disappointing place I have ever stayed at. The staff was not friendly, and unhelpful. At first there was no record of my deposit, but after some arguing they magically found the record of it. The room was disappointingly small, the bath was miserable, The water pressure was completely random and almost unusable, the water temperature was even more random and was fluctuating the whole time all by itself. There were no form of refreshments in the room, no tea or coffee or even a kettle to make any. Going down to the coffee shop/bar downstairs they ran out of milk and couldn't make any. While sleeping, at 4am the staff started yelling at each other right in front of our room, while getting things out of the store room and starting to prepare the place. The divider between our room and the next was just a normal door with a slide lock, and we could hear the neighbours and I assume they could hear us. The wifi did not reach our room on the first floor. The breakfast the next day was just one croissant and a cup of coffee. We used the post-card sending option where we buy a post card and stamp and they would put it in the mailbox for us. It is over a month and the post cards have not arrived yet. Compared to other cheaper places we stayed at the nights before this place is a complete waste of money. I cannot recommend this place to anybody, in fact I would recommend NOT to stay there.
The location, and the clean room and bathroom.
We were not served breakfast, no apology just the lady at reception that said the manager didn't show up to open the kitchen. I would have thought they would apologise and also maybe offer a refund, as I believe most guests (and myself) booked there for many reasons and free breakfast was one of the main reasons.
The Location is perfect, its lively but not too noisy. staff is VERY nice. rooms, kitchen, whole hostel very neat.
breakfast is kind of small.
Shower was terrible, could not set the water temp right - either burns you or cold
They where friendly and It was clean.
We tried to sleep, but they party the whole night, there are no rules to be silent at a specific time. The rooms are very small.
Free breakfast, location was nice
Room was tiny and got very hot at night, not able to have fan on without having light on as well
