Friendly staff - without hesitation, our student children were allowed to eat breakfast with us - Thanks!! Walking distance to nice restaurants, little shops etc.

Beautiful guest house, luxurious rooms, fantastic staff willing to offer help with dinner reservations, tours etc. Excellent location making it easy to enjoy Stellenbosch.

Central location, pleasant staff, decent breakfast.

The luxury double room was very small, regardless of the fact that it had a balcony. Significant building work was ongoing across the courtyard so the balcony didn't get used at all, noisy and builders a short distance away. The air conditioning unit dripped condensation all night every few minutes, disturbing our sleep. Turning it off meant an uncomfortably warm night and equally poor sleep... Management apologised but didn't seem surprised so I assume its not the first time it was reported.

The room was perfect, with a tiny veranda looking out over a quiet courtyard with a massive tree. I could be anywhere in Europe! The room had everything you could wish for including real coffee and milk! And some rusks for the early morning and fresh fruit to nibble on.

I had to stay on another day, and was moved to Room 5 which overlooks a busy street. But most people would not be too sensitive to that as it is a lot less noisy that all the big cities.

Well located in central Stellenbosch. Very friendly and helpful staff. Old world atmosphere.

Rather expensive for a B&B, but Stellenbosch tends to be an expensive tourist area catering for overseas tourists.

The guest house is perfectly located in the town; it is beautifully and comfortably presented, clean and tastefully furnished. The team who manage it work well together and are always around to help. It has a homely feel but is very professionally presented.

The room was lovely but a bit small for larger people! The ground floor room had a balcony looking out on to the terrace where breakfast was served so guests could look in on us lying in bed! Our hot breakfast was served whilst we were still eating our fruit and cereal.

Its purely a personal preference but a choice of pillows would be an added benefit - oh and to stay longer

Nice location in the center of Stellenbosch. Very frienly and helpful staff. Breakfast in the garden is very good. The house is antic with lots of charme. Rooms need some renovation. Our room was not ideal due to traffic noise from the street, although we had made our reservation 10 weeks ahead.

The owner, Paul, and his staff were friendly and always available with ideas for excursions. The rooms are very comfortable.

A pool or spa would have been nice, since it was so hot.

Thought that the Oude Leeskamer was very well situated in Stellenbosch for visiting children at university or studying there. Rooms very peaceful and private and the breakfast in the courtyard was lovely way to start the day. The staff are very helpful and interested especially if you are a first time visitor to the town of Stellenbosch.

An oasis! - a lovely old house in the centre of town, close to restaurants. Friendly owner and staff. Lovely courtyard for breakfast and just sitting. Recommended.

Historic house tastefully restored and converted into a high quality guest house. Breakfast in couryard was lovely, room very confortable and well euipped with excellent shower and pretty balcony. Very friendly and helpful staff, advised on wine farms to visit (something we knew nothing about) and all very good. Central to restaurants and town.

We prefer a more buffet style breakfast, although picking from three suggested menus we had just what we like (fruit and bread.

Friendly, attentive, welcoming, hospitable , flexible. Very good breakfast in a beautiful courtyard or dining room . It is well placed for the surrounding are and the university, also for restaurants and shopping. The room was always cleaned, dealt with attentively and the whole place was welcoming and professional.I got a real sense that the staff like working there and working with their visitors and helping visitors to have a professionally supported excellent stay. I shall recommend the hotel and hope ton be back in April with a colleague.

Very charming accommodations in the heart of Stellenbosch. Within walking distance to shops and restaurants and easy drive to wineries. The hosts were very lovely and helpful. We would stay here again without a doubt.

Paul is a wonderful host... It was our wedding anniversary and he supplied us with a bottle of champagne to celebrate - very thoughtful of him... Our daughter is studying in stellenbosch uni for the semester - this is a great location to stay, just down the road from the uni...The breakfast was the best ! Service and staff was awesome -thanks for a great holiday ...

tastefully and appropriately decorated for the age of the house. excellent bed linens and breakfast. Great service in setting up wine tasting tour and transfers. Located in town and close to shopping and restaurants. Perfect for a 2-3 day weekend trip.

Excellent service by host/ owner and team. Good place to make a short stay in Stellenbosch and surroundings happen.

Minor issues to be attended to I.E. replacing rusks and sugar sweetener on coffee table in room, replacing soap in bathroom.
