With landscaped grounds, this 100-year old Victorian house offers well-furnished rooms with a DVD player and an outdoor pool with cushioned lounge chairs. It is 650 ft from the center of Stellenbosch....

Location is perfect and very convenient !! We could leave the car and walked the town. Staff are amazing... Very friendly and nothing was to much effort for them! Love the new look of the Hotel.
Cooked breakfast didn't appeal to us at all!!
Fantastic staff. Warm welcoming and extremely professional. Well designed rooms and bathrooms and well situated. Recommended.
Warm entrance welcoming staff Willingness to please
Location The staff
Parking or rather the lack of it
The lift was not yet in operation. No parking nearby.
The location, the quality of the room (once the mistake was corrected) and the facilities in general.
I was checked into a downgraded room from what I booked on Bookings.Com! It was corrected when I complained. Also, the construction work is disruptive at present.
Location perfect Room great
Dinner was not on standard - we had friends over and all 5 meals were not good. My steak was close being send back for being very tough, the fish were totally overcooked and the squid stuffing was tasteless and the pasta very average. Chef was aparently not there but the replacement you had should not cook.
Nobody bothered to tell us they were renovating the entire hotel. The banging lasted until 7pm and the hotel was filthy and smelly.
the location and the stuff members.
Staff were exceptional
Parking on arrival.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Great location
Was able to decide not to stay without penalty.
We booked the more expensive "family apartment". This is exactly what it was, an apartment in the building next door to the hotel. As a result, no services from the hotel could be made directly available, particularly no WiFi, and with such a poor 3G signal, getting work done was not an option. Access to the hotel itself was via a locked gate, and with no key, had to rely (hope) someone was at the front desk to remotely open it (which they did without enquiring as to who was trying to get in). So security, in safety conscious Stellenbosch, where everything has a locked gate and a guard, was essentially non-existent.
Very friendly and helpful staff, clean rooms.
Very noisy - I slept in a room overlooking a restaurant. The staff the moved me to a much more quite room, with no additional charge, thanks!
Staff was very friendly
Too much noise from the reasturants, Bed wasn't great
Clean rooms, friendly staff, close proximity to Central Stellenbosch.
The renovation construction was a distraction, it affected many aspects of the experience: limited restuarant services, teething issues in the rooms with new equipment (like non-functional extraction fans in bathrooms), staff were challenged by the difficult circumstances.
The hotel is just a little chaotic at the moment due to the renovations and not the normal serene spot I'm used to. I'm looking forward to it when the renovations are all finished.
Builders and noise
Location was perfect Staff welcoming
Breakfast was adequate. Building works starting early on Saturday meant not possible to rest.
I love being situated so close to the town of Stellenbosch with all shops, cafes etc withing comfortable walking distance. Oude Werf is like a safe and comfortable haven in the middle of a quaint town. I love the friendly and obliging atmosphere at the hotel which has all the necessary "parts" to form a lovely whole in hotel accommodation. It is very welcoming to be remembered from previous stays as well ! I enjoy the setting as well as bits of garden/patio/poolside accommodation which is refreshing in a hotel. The eclectic decor is also a favourite !
The noise from the workmen busy on site during my stay. Was not warned of renovations prior to arrival so this was a bit uncomfortable when one is coming to relax and have some holiday downtime !
The staff were approachable and happy to help and 'go the extra mile'. Good food, well prepared. Excellent location. Although close to cafes and restaurants, the room was quiet (except for the friendly crickets)!
Some of the plumbing fixtures were loose. They were functional but needed a tighten.
The bed was comfy Nice bathroom Good location
The restaurant is atrocious and the staff are unmotivated and sometimes just rude hence why its always empty. Generally a very Dull hotel. Building works nextdoor and the mess associated No water in the room and the price to get some! After experiancing previous hotels this was a real let down. Luckily we only stayed for two nights, anymore and i would have looked for a different hotel.
The staff were amazing and very helpful! We would come back just to see them again! Thank you! Breakfast super! Very child friendly, the staff were so sweet to our little boy! The location is very good, walking distance to all Stellenbosch shops, bars and restaurants.
The first room we got was opposite a busy bar so it was very noisy! We asked to change the room the next morning and was moved to another room which was lovely!
We arrived at the hotel an experienced a substandard room however this was quickly resolved and Marissa's professionality on the first night was superb.
Superior room was excellent
Great two bedroom family apartment with a full kitchen, lots of space and a fantastic terrace. The location is absolutely perfect on Church Street right next to wonderful restaurants and great shopping. If ever in Stellenbosch again, we will definitely stay there again.
Second bathroom had a bit of backed up plumbing.
