We did like everything here, not much to say really, the food was good, the room was good and the facilities were good. No hassle with parking. Loved the view from the balcony.

Not a lot to do at night in the hotel really, but that made our holiday even more relaxing.

We stayed in the 3 bedroom apartment, which was lovely and very spacious for 4 adults. Lovely pool with loungers/towels. The staff were very helpful. Great breakfast, all in all very good value for money.

Only criticism would be its location. The views were fantastic but it was a bit of distance from the Main Street/Waterfront. No problem if you have a car and if you want to have a drink, the hotel run a taxi service.

Owner and staff were most accomadating. Facilities were outstanding and well maintained. Breakfast was very well done with lots of choises.

Friendliness of staff and their willingness to help when required. For example, when WLAN did not function, they immediately engaged to call an expert (though he did not manage to make it work in our room, but at least it then worked in the corridor). When we once did not get a taxi, staff immediately offered a lift to the Waterfront. The view on the Knysna lagoon (from most rooms) is magnificent.

Over selling. On the Internet the guest house is promoted as a luxury retreat for the discerning traveller and similar statements. While the facility is ok, it is way from luxurious. For an experienced traveller, rather European 3 star level. Major investments must date back quite some time. The appearance is that of a house built / maintained in do it yourself mode rather than by professionals. No restaurants around. To go out, you need your own car or a taxi (ZAR 70 + tip one way to the Waterfront). Some level of noise 24 hrs from the N2 highway which is situated between the guest house and the lagoon. Price / performance: we paid the same amount per day as for a real 5* luxury design hotel with overwhelming guest service in Port Elizabeth the days before we moved to Overmeer Guest House. Don't be mistaken: not a bad house but by far less than their self advertising and thus also a bit on the high pricing side.

Amazing view. Great for a stop over. The rooms are big and overlook the lake in Knysna. Rooms are kitted out with comodities including filter coffee. Beds are very comfortable. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

Decor is a bit mixed. Modern and african. House looks recently renovated, so even though it has modern touches, some items are a bit outdated. Tv is old and bath takes a long time to fil up. Breakfast was average, compared to similar guesthouses.

From the moment we arrived we had been made welcome and felt special.The staff went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and to have an awesome experience. The view from the room energized you in the morning. Had a great time and will be going back.

The views and the hospitality of the staff

Location was convenient. Breakfast was excellent. Large room.

Our room was a little musty, however this goes with the territory as Knysna can be very humid. Also we did not stay in the luxury rooms which were above ground level and therefore probably did not suffer from this problem.

It is a nice quiet place for a gettaway and the room was well situated and they catered for my specific Diet.

We had booked the apartment, but there was a problem with it, so we were given 3 double rooms, of which one was a luxury room with a balcony. That room was fantastic and the view of the lagoon was superb. The room was spacious with the bathroom as part of the room, which was a novel idea! Nice comfy bed! Very good breakfast.
