Got into durban around 9 am and staff was courteous and told me room was not ready. Since I had a few things to tke care of... Went on to do my business and came back in evening to check in,.all was okay. View nice room location also nice..but but... Pillow and bed very comfortable..even though I would have preferred one double or queen bed since I was alone. I was in room 502. amenities were ok, Carpet in room very dirty..appears that had not been cleaned and vacuumed in days....couch had not been moved and all corners of room on railing were full of dust... Bathroom floor tiles dirty... A big opening when looking at the wall in the bath tub ...could house many rats and other insects inside not knowing where it leads to.... This wide opening of about 1.5meters wide could be closed off. The door locks are poor flush doors locks. A simple deadbolt lock would suffice and change the visual in and out of the room. Some electrical panels were closed off with smaller than normal covers and towel hanger next to face wash basin is not properly fixed tothe wall(its coming off) floor under the sink is also dirty. You know what is disappointing - you have this wonderful property that could be so cosy and nice but the basics are not being complied with>>>cleanliness and appearance..... Sad but true... Am sure management knows about it.... Sorry...i have traveled to 68 countries to access hotels and guest houses... Very disappointed in upkeep of this facility.

Friendly staff; easy breakfast; comfortable although not luxurious. Nervous about the street parking, but a seemingly 'faithful' car-guard was ever present.

Location, location, location and price. English breakfast, they should have more variety in terms of the menu and a little bit of decorations on the hotel itself. It looks old inside.

Parade Hotel is very centrally situated on the beachfront. It is very close to all amenities. Thus you don't have to wall long distances to get to a good place to have dinner ot to go to the flee market etc I really didn't enjoy the breakfast. It was actually quiet terrible. Mu suggestion is instead of making the sausages in a saucen why not jst fry it on its own. The breakfast surely is the only bad thing about the hotel

Very central, being right in front of the main beach in Durban with awesome views. Staff were always courteous and accommodating. Hearty breakfast, comfy beds, good showers. Nothing much. The interiors look a bit tired and maybe need some renovating here and there. No internet or wi-fi, although I don't really care about that when on holidays. No air con but fan provided. Could get a bit hot in the summer though.

Very friendly staff and although rather basic but the view overwhelmed us and it offered all that is needed - we could even make early morning coffee in our room - thanks for the stay we will come back again.

Nice budget hotel. Excellent locality. The managereess Brenda Lee went out of her way to ensure I have a pleasant vacation. Lovely balcony room situated just across the breakfast hall. On arrival the room that I was suppose to be allocated was given away. Receptionist put me in another room. On entering room I find out that it is not a twin as I requested. Had to go back to reception to find out reason. Was told fully booked no Twin available. After a while I manage to get a twin room. The next day I was moved to another room next door not the one I requested. 304 instead of 305.Inconvenienced. Barbara the receptionist had a attitude when I called to confirm reservation amount prior to arrival. She could not even assist when I requested I want to check out earlier and see if someone requires accomodation for 2 nights.

Great service, extremely friendly staff who went out of their way to help me. Right on the beach. The hotel building is old and needs renovation badly, including the rooms and the elevator. I had no sink in my bathroom, it was in the room itself.

Location close to icc conferemce centre. Friendly and helpful staff. Views from room of beach. Londoner bar with interesting locals - not just residents. Room could do with an upgrade. Windows rattling in the strong wind. No internet connection - wifi in particular.

Cheap stay, including breakfast. In the city center and close to the sea. Very old building, Rooms look very sad. We found a dead cucaracha in the bathroom when we arrived. Isolation of the rooms is not great, we could hear our neighbor rooms at 6am on Sunday morning.

The room was neat and clean and the seaview was what I asked for. The lift was inoperable however, when I arrived, I discovered that I had been given a room on the 5th floor. An apology was tendered but no attempt was made to find an alternative on a lower floor. My ID no clearly indicates that I am 67 years old. It goes without saying that climbing that number of stairs would be onerous to a person of my age. It also indicates little to no interest in guests' wellbeing and comfort, on the part of management.

We loved the building itself. It had a lot of character. Our room was a corner room with two windows that overlooked the ocean and a nice sitting area by the big window. We also loved the breakfasts each morning. There were lots of choices for coffee, juice and food. It was delicious, and in a very elegent, unique atmosphere and area in the building, which had several table with views of the ocean. It was also nice to have the corner bar accessible from the lobby of the hotel and it had outdoor seating. The room smelled a little musty. But it looked like they were remodelingt the rooms there with new carpet, etc.

Staff @ Parade are very friendly, stone throw away from the beach, nice view of the beach which gives you fresh air. I would have expected a better tv set (flat screen). There was no telephone on the room and had to make unnecessary trip to reception to request for soap that was mistakenly not put. My room shower was not adjustable and although I reported but the matter to the hotel could not do any thing until after my stay (Monday).
