Customer service - they went out of their way to return the satellite system so that we could watch the 6 Nations Rugby. £8 for exceptional value for breakfast.
The free Wifi was pathetic. If you could get onto it then you were privaliged; however, once on it took 45mins to get a Messenger message to send and then another 45mins to re-establish the connection so that you could read the reply
I had to pay seperately for parking and was not told there was a valet service which parked the car three blocks away. so as a woman I was walking three blocks by myself at late hours of the night and the hotel still charged me for the valet service yet I did not use it
Did not like look of attentiveness of bar staff, slow service and long waiting times for food
Comfy room and clean
Food nothing special and breakfast more expensive than restaurants in square
The service was very good and the friendliness was exceptional. I would like to mention them all but will restrict myself to Goodman, Jonathan and Melinda. The location was 1A. Although the bathroom is small, the shower is spacious.
We were there for 11 nights and could have done with more wardrobe space. Not being a spring chicken, the ladder in the pool was rather daunting!
Location, friendly staff
No Internet in room bathroom door opens inward making it difficult to get in and out of.
location, cleanliness, nice rooms
you have to pay extra for everything: parking (70 Rand per day), wifi, breakfast. our car was damaged by someone (maybe the guy who parked it?) but there was apology or support to find out how damaged the car. all the staff at the reception is extremely unpolite, unmotivated and unfriendly.
Good location and friendly staff
Terrible smell in the bathroom.
Staff at reception were friendly and helpful.
This was the only place I've ever stayed at that charged a parking fee!!
I found the restaurant especially well run and the food excellent to taste and presented well. Would do it again sometime.
What was there not to like?
Restaurant, room and bar.
Some members of staff were not polite to some extent!
THERE WAS NO HOTEL SHUTTLE WE USED A PRIVATE TAXI
The first room we were booked in was dirty. We had to be moved to a makeshift bed. The breakfast expensive and nothing special about it. The most inconvenience is that every time you hsve to go out you should book your car out of the parking. Noise in the morning given iys proximity to the flea market is unbearable.
staff attitude - not very helpful. cleaning - standard low our DHL delivery never reached us. They said it was pushed under the room door.
The fact that I was refused breakfast although I insisted and had proof that I paid for breakfast on booking
The parking arrangements sucks. I booked and paid for two rooms way in advance but was surprised when I was told only one room was prepared for us on arrival.
very centrally located. i never needed to use my car during my stay. i was travelling with 2 teenage kids and the family suite was just amaaaazing! it exceeded my expectations. it was spacious and we didnt feel crowded. i enjoyed going to the gym and sauna AFTER A YEAR of inactivity.
Wifi connectivity was poor to non-existent.
Very good bed. Cute sauna. Helpful staff.
Windows were dirty, a pity with such a nice view on the mountains. Slow internet.
It is the second time I stayed here, because the location, green market square, close to long street and short street, walking distance to the cape town tourism information office and citysightseeing office.
I booked two nights but when I checked in I decided to stay for four nights. The staff at desk recommended my online booking price, but I found they had special (zar200 less /night in my case) on their booklet in the room. Another thing is when I checked in, I prepaid everything, including breakfast, and we didn't take one. When I checked out, no money refund, no voucher, and the reason from them is we already prepared breakfast for you. The breakfast is buffet, many people had it without booking even, just paid when checked out. Did you really cooked it for me? The taxi driver they found to pick me up from Stellenbosch to their hotel was late for the transfer to airport, I had to stay at Cape Town for longer time, because of the unhappy stories, I moved to Victoria &Afred Hotel, that one was great.
Excellent staff , and facilities. good value for money
Location is not so good at all. I would rather stay at waterfront
Location was excellent. Long street around the corner, the market on the square in front. V&A a 20 min walk.
The pool wasnt heated as stated on the site. In fact it was more of a big cold tub. In many ways not so much a familly hotel.
The staff were very friendly and the location for that specific stay was good
The room was a bit smelly and the bathroom was too small . There was a lot of noise from other people at night .
Location, appearance, restaurant and outdoor seatings, room was well equipped and very comfortable bed. I was glad to be ale to open a window which is not always possible. Very nice to be able to just walk to eg the Waterfront or restaurants. felt safe.
Room is a little small and water from shower not very hot (especially in the morning).
