Swimming pool not operational, very noisy at night because of people talking and shouting downstairs at open bar area outside the hotel directly under room windows
The fire alarm went off for quite some time at 6am and no one assured us if it was false or not. There is no way to cell down to reception from the phone directly, that I could see, so I googled their number and called down to check, and it was false. No one apologised. Not ideal. Someone should really let us know if it was false or not. I sat outside at the restaurant and waited ages and no one served us, I then went in to get a menu which was handed to me as if the woman was doing me a favour, very sloppily. They never came to serve us in the end so we left.
Location! The bed was good too and the room served a purpose for what I needed. VERY small room, more like a mini studio, but ok for one person. Great security guards
No effort in accomodation or leadership or management.
Mattress was not that comfortable. Limited Wifi which was unreliable.
Ambiance, hotel layout
On the night
Hotel is beautiful, the rooms are cozy.
We often travel from George to Cape Town for the week-end. This was our first time at 'Fire & Ice'. It is overpriced; the service in the restaurant and bar was atrocious. And last time, we booked a taxi from a hotel back to the airport, it cost us R150; when we asked Reception for a taxi, they got one of their own cars and the charge was R370|
The room was comfortable with a view of Table Mountain
The coffee machine water was not changed in a while and someone rang the door bell when there was a "Do not disturb" sign on the door
The entertainment at the bar area. Janneman the manager making up for the bad experience.
No hot water on the 8th March so my husband showered with very lukewarm water prior to his race. Also there was a constant garbage smell as one exited the lifts on the 5th floor
The hotel had a nice vibe which is ideal for young couples. The food was really good. I particularly loved the oats at breakfast
No separate bathroom
Very comfortable bed
Paying R175 for a bowl of yoghurt & fruit and a cup of coffee
Convience to our needs
Room small, king bed is just 2 single beds which makes it slightly uneven. Furnishings in the room a bit aged (and cheap). Blinds do not fully block out light so no chance of sleeping in.
Great food and awesome milkshake bar
The room service closed too early for a weekend
They had a DJ when we arrived it looked like a club.
Rooms are a bit small and there's nothing glamorous about them. Despite that we booked a superior room
The great cocktails! !!
Breakfast was a little pricey for Cape Town and could have walked around the corner to a cafe I never enjoy 'always on' wifi (at any hotel) Needed a 'bench' to open luggage
Staff were helpful and friendly Felt like I could come and go as I please without hassle Room was simply but clean and comfy enough for a few nights Selection of channels allowed me to rest and catch the football (soccer) one evening without going out For the value, would stay here again
That the bathroom was not cleaned when we got there.
Staff weren't the happiest people I've ever met, could be slightly more upbeat. The wifi was poor and the room could have done with a small fridge to keep bottled water etc.The phone also didn't work.Tried to use room service at night and they could only give us burgers? We also were asked to pay to use the pool on Saturday because there was a pool party, ridiculous. Luckily I'm local.
Loved the bed, location and milkshakes.
great look and feel in room dining was incredible.
- tiny "superiour" room without cupboard and separate bathroom - super slow internet connection: 2min for loading a simple website
- yummie food, drinks and shakes
TV was out dated and channel options were lacking
Restaurant was great Room service was spot on Staff was very friendly
* hotel did not accomodate specific request for patio and yet accepted a reservation. I find this a misrepresentation. If I had known I would not have a patio I would have not booked there. * they do not provide free shuttle service from the airport to hte hotel.
* the food was fabulous * the room was comfortable with all amenities
