Spacious rooms, excellent location - just off the freeway and close to shops and malls, well priced - good value for money
Breakfast was good, spacious clean comfortable rooms, easy to connect to wifi, easily accessible
Love the olde world decor!
Very comfortable beds, big shower.
Even though we were walk in customers, they couldn't offer us the same rate as booking.com so we had to book it ourselves while at reception! No bath in our room.
The old Hilton was way better value for money had more atmosfere and a far better menu! The R1500 for the room was not worth it!
Breakfast was very disappointing and not worth the money. Waitress might as well have been on another planet.
No new towels on last day and one short, and hand soap was never replenished for the entire stay.
Noise levels from guests and vehicles Mustiness in room
Good location for our needs visiting family in Pietermaritzburg. This hotel was recently renovated and the lobby was nice to sit and meet friends, breakfast really good. Surrounding area is really nice and hilly. Convenient off the Highway and close to Howick Falls.
Wi Fi was average - typical of South African hotels - just not Hi Speed for modern electronics. Stayed in the older side of the hotel near the conference rooms - a bit noisy in the morning. Beds are very hard, but again seems the same in all South African hotels.
Our stay was wonderful, lovely hotel, staff were amazing so helpful and friendly, beautiful clean rooms, really a good choice.
Thought breakfast was a bit expensive.
Comfy bed. Nice room. Very friendly waitress at dinner.
No water and yet no discount or even a free drink or something to compensate. Buffet very expensive for not such good quality food.
We didn't have water for 2 days. Restaurant was very expensive for the quality of food offered and service was slow. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Checked out a day early as there was no water
The look and feel was great.
Disappointing for a 4 star hotel. There wasn't even a porter to carry our luggage to our room. My spouse is in his seventies and had to carry heavy luggage up flights of stairs. The air conditioner did not function well, resulting in our room being extremely hot.
There was not much we liked except the security and we will not use this hotel again.
Away from the city nestles in a clam and quiet place. Good place to relax.
There were no tissues in my room and when they requested them they told me the storeroom was locked. They also ran out of a drink I requested. Rather disappointed for a four star hotel.
When we arrived early hours of the morning, the staff was still pleasant and didn't want to hold us up and checked us in quiet quickly. That helped in getting my daughter to bed speedily.
We enjoyed the relaxed and quietness, with the Piano in the background, as well as the central location between Midmardam and PMB
On Monday morning there was no Porter to assist us!
The staff were lovely, the bed was super huge and extremely comfortable which was great after a long week and the pool was magnificent.
The rooms were expensive compared to what else is around; with Oz dollars it wasn't too bad for me but I imagine for South Africans it would be steep.
The friendly staff made our stay so wonderful and personalized
The soaps and shampoos etc for 3 persons was little daily for the time we were there, but we requested and received. The meals are nice but no-one explained the menu for the pool / afternoons - for example a separate menu for light lunches and snacks would be very welcome.
Staff were very welcoming on arrival. Located conveniently just off the highway. Bar food was reasonable.
Breakfast was a shambles (and expensive!). We didn't bother after the first day as we found a cafe down the road at the Quarry Centre - fab location, great food and value for money. The rooms were functional rather than comfortable - dark and old-fashioned and no fridge! No lift.
The manner that my booking was handled.
no bath in room, a superior queen room ?So who gets a bath ?
The Interior Mood and finishes Porter Cleanliness
Waiting 10 minutes for hot water. Insufficient information from reception when enquiring the difference between king/king rooms, resulting in me spending more than necessary
