The relaxing environment

The location and the garden like setting. Bed was comfortable

Exceptionally poor, inadequate lighting using too few LEDs. No hot water in the morning. When reported was told that the message would be forwarded to maintenance. No apology for the inconvenience.

I booked a room with wi fi and when I got my room there was no wi fi, asked 4 different people in management positions and got a major run around over a 4 hour period and end of the day still no wi fi in the room, at the restraunt,at the Bar, outside the confrience centre.. when you are here on business and must have access it is not good enough and to be told it should work here and there is neither as advertised or the truth..

The staff where very friendly

Bathroom - shower was not very clean. We asked for a heater and never got a reply from front office We had asked for a very mild Chicken and prawn curry for our children and they sent us a hot curry. We found staff sitting in the resturant and reading a newspaper when we went for breakfast.

The receptionist was not friendly at all

On making the booking I understood that from my credit card 50% deposit will be taken and I pay balance at Resort. I had to pay all at checking out. Caused delays as 3 others experienced the same. Plse check the info on your web for booking. Request resort to arrange the payment at arrival.

Service at reception could be improved, they did not know that we were coming and forgot to give us the access card for the beach.

Lighting in unit poor.

Being refused breakfast, after it was clearly stated that it was included in the rate.

Lodges well equipped and comfortable. Privacy of each lodge good, use of wifi when asked. Loved crocodiles in lake! Food in restaurant very good.

Only customers in sundowner bar staff showed no interest ordered 2 cocktails and must have taken over 10 minutes to make and then were left on bar for us to collect. Television with xfactor was on very loudly ruined nice atmosphere. When we paid by card staff member realised no till roll in card machine so didn't know if transaction had gone through or not. We asked what he wanted to do and he said it would take him ages to go to reception to get new roll to see if it had worked. He suggested we went on Internet on our phone and checked our bank account. When we said didnt have Internet access he said that if transaction hadn't gone through he would have to pay for it. We weren't sure what he wanted us to do about it, in end on my suggestion we gave him room number and said if problem let know. Didn't hear anymore just all a bit unprofessional.

Peacefull and quiet. Staff very friendly. Area feels safe and is tidy. Realy enjoyed our stay and would recommend to friends and family. Will come and stay again.

Breakfast price a bit on the high side but was enjoyable. Access gate coming from sea back onto property, I cut my arm on the notice plate in order to place access card on inside of gate to open gate. The plate is bent, and the space is tiny. Access point could be installed at a better point on outside for safe access. Could recommend a designated area for carwash facility.

The privacy of having your own chalet, friendly staff, grounds well maintained, good restaurant, easy access to excursions into nature (Umfulozi game reserve where we saw white rhinos, airial boardwalk in Dlinza forrest, Raphia palm forrest, etc)

Protea Hotel Imvubu Lodge has the friendliest and caring staff. The atmosphere there is so much different from all other lodges. The rooms were clean and up to standard. Meals provided were very compensating. Protea keep up your standard. Thank you for a great weekend.

Setting and friendly, helpful staff!

the rooms were reasonably priced especially when you book them online. the beds are soo comfy and the tranquility and quite nature of the place is a great thing

Room Telephone didnt work

The accomodation options in Richards Bay are few and far between. I do not think it prudent not to spend huge amounts on accommodation for business travel. The Protea Hotel Imvubu fit the bill on this count.

It's not super central, does not boast distinguishing features (e.g. view/scenery), and is not super comfortable for business travelers.
