Score from 73 reviews Wonderful
Everything was perfect.
Clean & very comfortable
Poorly signposted (try a rainy night) Untrained staff in dining room - absolutely killed all enthusiasm I had for the place! I had a meal in town....
Lizel, room service food but person on phone spoke little english
room was cold. Heater needed to be on a long time. In fairness it was a corner room with two exterior walls. no beer, only lager ! Could have done with a newspaper. was given a week old one !!!
The room and the bar staff and facilities
The fact that a pick up from the airport had an accident and the follow up from the hotel was disturbingly non existant. Then a fridge in the room freezes juices overnight and the staff do nothing about it ...a fail by any stretch of my imagination .....
The restaurant food was not the greatest
The setting. The style. The serene surroundings and the wonderful spacious rooms
Comfortable and clean room with spacious deck overlooking the golf course
Second floor room with no lift and unusual for South Africa not much help with luggage. Happy hour in the Tavern Bar but no snacks available.
The position of the Hotel for an overnight stay is good.
The quality of the breakfast can improve.
we had to leave a day earlier and were accommodated to do so by very friendly staff. Also received a excellent breakfast and two bottles of wine in place of a refund. Excellent place to stay - professional and very friendly.
Room needed to be fumigated - insects in the bed and room
Service was very good , breakfast was good , located in a residential area so nice and quiet only thing missing is probably a spa and gym , two decent pools and a lovely play area for younger kids
No sauna or gym and just thought if we stay there in winter what would kids do ?
very central location, good room Facilities.
the fact that I got a quote and paid upfront, once we checked out we were told there is a Tourist Levy to pay Not once was this ever mentioned the night before we checked out I asked to settle the full account, this was done, the next morning when we handed in the card at reception the lady on duty gave me endless hassels for the Tourist levy that was outstanding R0.46 I explained that I had settled the evening, Yes she said but I still owe 46c can you believe the attitude towards me for the extra 46c, I gave her a full R1 and asked her to enjoy herself, this attitude really upset me!!!
I liked everything about the hotel. Good value for money.
staff maybe better trained in serving food and when to life plates etc when guests are finished.
Very helpful manager and alacrity of follow up after stay, great curry dinner, lovely dining room, comfortable bed, nice balcony view. Close to town and golf course.
Exhorbitant cost for breakfast, mislaid our luggage, the paucity of the tea/coffee in room, slippery situation standing in the bathtub for a shower. Unable to earn Marriott points for the stay despite months since partnership.
Lack of atmosphere in bar
When I came to pay the bill I was told that I had overpaid booking.com and received a handsome refund. Very honest.
Room was quite small - hardly de luxe! Wi-fi was over-complicated but fine when one mastered it.
We liked the comfort. The staff was pleasant and the location was serene.
Clean rooms,nice views
Dining experience was diabolical. No smile and,no greeting from the person on the door to restaurant. Untrained serving staff not knowing how simply to take an order. Two types of wine that we asked for unavailable.one of the senior staff who eventually served our wine did not offer a taste and asked if she could borrow one of our napkins as her hand was slipping when she tried to open the bottle. After the moans the actual food was quite good. Stayed There for two nights, breakfast was also much as the same as dinner experience. No coffee, tea offered again had to ask on both days. Staff unfriendly, service slow. Again food selection and quality was quite good. Sum up worst Protea I have visited.
Friendly and helpful staff
Food same daily there not appetizing
Friendly staff and strong wi fi signal
The view from the balcony overlooking the golf course and garden.
Flies in the restaurant.
1) nice lawn to play soccer 2) nice rooms 3) nice bar 4) room service good 5) nice pool
1) expensive breakfast
Classic surroundings. Nice golf hotel
Location is central to the garden route. The site is secured well and has good facilities.
They tend to nickle and dime you (limiting internet to a certain amount of MB, charging for breakfast).
We arrived back at the hotel on Saturday night after a 60th birthday party only to discover no water available -shower, taps - nothing!! Phoned reception and was told - " work being done on the pipes but I can send a bottle of water up to your room!!!!!!!". In the morning there was still no water at 9am!! we were not told of a problem or even offered some sort of alternate arrangement. The water in the bottle didn't taste very nice at all by the way. We checked out and we received a "sorry" !!!! Not impressed at all considering what I paid and a Prokard member!!
