I loved the scenery and bar area as well as the resturant. The rooms opening onto the golf course was also nice
The beds were not comfortable. That was the only thing I didn't enjoy.
Gorgeous hotel, big balconies in the main building, great restaurant , lovely terrace overlooking the golf course and the rolling mountains where evening cocktails can be had
Pool area a little plain looking, not wintin walking distance to anything
Reception staff friendly and helpful. Booking in very efficient. Enjoyed breakfast. Very clean
Room service was unsuccessful on one occassion
Staff were unhelpful
shower too cramped not enough space
Lovely Location next to the golf course. Staff friendly.
Bath Towels need an upgrade. Noisy School Tour members took over the bar area.
Good value for money. We enjoyed the peace and tranquillity.
The poor continental breakfast The inability of staff to react to broken tv after 4 different requests The central booking telling me only double rooms available only for me to immediately book 2 single rooms on internet
the location is in quite suburb next to a golf estate
breakfast was not included in the rate which is an inconvenience
The Protea Hotel really proved that they were the King of Quality Hospitality in George. Highly recommended for superb client service and value for money!
The assistance and dedication of one Andiswa. She works at the front office and attended to us with a smile. The golf course next door.
The arrangement of beds.
Location. Good size room and good size bathroom. Lovely grounds.
Cleanliness an issue ... A dirty glass remained outside our entrance for over 24 hours. Also the minibar was non existent.
Well trained, friendly and helpful staff who were prepared to go the extra mile to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Enjoyed both breakfast and dinner in the hotel and would definitely return.
Room Service was unfortunately not up to standard for a four star establishment.
Everything was perfect.
Clean & very comfortable
Poorly signposted (try a rainy night) Untrained staff in dining room - absolutely killed all enthusiasm I had for the place! I had a meal in town....
Lizel, room service food but person on phone spoke little english
room was cold. Heater needed to be on a long time. In fairness it was a corner room with two exterior walls. no beer, only lager ! Could have done with a newspaper. was given a week old one !!!
The room and the bar staff and facilities
The fact that a pick up from the airport had an accident and the follow up from the hotel was disturbingly non existant. Then a fridge in the room freezes juices overnight and the staff do nothing about it ...a fail by any stretch of my imagination .....
The restaurant food was not the greatest
The setting. The style. The serene surroundings and the wonderful spacious rooms
Comfortable and clean room with spacious deck overlooking the golf course
Second floor room with no lift and unusual for South Africa not much help with luggage. Happy hour in the Tavern Bar but no snacks available.
The position of the Hotel for an overnight stay is good.
The quality of the breakfast can improve.
we had to leave a day earlier and were accommodated to do so by very friendly staff. Also received a excellent breakfast and two bottles of wine in place of a refund. Excellent place to stay - professional and very friendly.
Room needed to be fumigated - insects in the bed and room
Service was very good , breakfast was good , located in a residential area so nice and quiet only thing missing is probably a spa and gym , two decent pools and a lovely play area for younger kids
No sauna or gym and just thought if we stay there in winter what would kids do ?
very central location, good room Facilities.
the fact that I got a quote and paid upfront, once we checked out we were told there is a Tourist Levy to pay Not once was this ever mentioned the night before we checked out I asked to settle the full account, this was done, the next morning when we handed in the card at reception the lady on duty gave me endless hassels for the Tourist levy that was outstanding R0.46 I explained that I had settled the evening, Yes she said but I still owe 46c can you believe the attitude towards me for the extra 46c, I gave her a full R1 and asked her to enjoy herself, this attitude really upset me!!!
