Protea Hotel Kruger Gate  

Beautiful Hotel + set-up. Probably the most beautiful hotel ever stayed in. Staff are very friendly. You do not have the feel of living in a normal hotel, you really feel as living in the jungle...great experiance + athmosphere. From the viewing point we could spot elephants, hippos and many other animals. Dinner is a good buffet which is included in the price. Walking distance to Kruger Gate.

Spa threathements unprofessional. My girlfriend did a facial + pedicure but were not properly done. It was more like a massage then a threathement!!! When booking SPA threatments the guy at the office had no idea regarding spa threatments. When booking tours, not much information is given so we had to choose randomly (and got very lucky!!)

The location was superb and the dinners were very good and overall all the staff we encountered were friendly.

The maintenance at the hotel is totally unacceptable. Our airconditioner did not work and after being told by David (maintenance handyman) that it would be fixed the following day as it needed gas, it still was not repaired. I also reported it to the front desk on the Thursday morning - they did adjust my accommodation for that night - but it was a huge nuisance as we had to move rooms at 21:00 and my son was already sleeping. The bar also ran out of stock. I believe that this hotel is not up to four star standard - for the price I was paying I expected alot more.

The Hotel is located directly at the Kruger Gate, which makes it unique. The hotel is prepared to host tourist groups also arriving with bus tours. The service is very professional.

The hotel was faced with power failures. Unfortunately, no handlight was avaliable. We understood from other tourists that this had happened the days before, too. There are so many tourists coming and going that no private atmosphere arose.

Advertise the viewing decks and spar more. Some WiFi in room would be great.

Fantastic location (a few hundred metres from Kruger gate), very nice premises, comfortable rooms, very nice and good dinner buffet (which includes a show with dancers)

Maybe slightly pricey...

Friendly staff and beautiful scenery.

Air conditioning in our room didn't work (Room 256). We arrived to a room -with only one small towel and one bath towel even though we booked it for 2 adults and 2 children. Complained at reception where after we only received one more bath towel?? Restaurant struggled to handle the large amount of guests for dinner. We were busy with dessert before they cleared any plates off the table.

The hospitality and the attention you are given by the entire staff.

When you bbok for the game drive in the park the hotel charges r60 P.P. for making such a booking without notifying us.

Lage am Rande des Krügerparks. Sehr geschmackvolle, gemütliche Anlage - leider zum Teil etwas abgewohnt.

Personal war zum Teil sehr bemüht und freundlich, zum Teil aber auch lasch und langsam - endlose Wartezeiten auf Snacks und Getränke...

Connaissant et utilisant la chaîne Protea en Afrique du Sud, j'en use très régulièrement. Kruger Gate a un emplacement idéal si l'on ne veut pas séjourner dans le parc Kruger. J'y suis venue une première fois il y a plus de 10 ans, le service et l'accueil y étaient chaleureux et professionnel.

Cette année, régnait une ambiance tendue et revendicatrice. Pas agréable d'y être accueilli par des manifestants et des calicots.. Au desk, attitudes hautaines et nonchalantes. J'espère que le manager y mettra bon ordre !
