Protea Hotel Midrand  

Very friendly and helpful staff. Security staff at entrance very friendly.

Private vehicles parked outside main entrance, we had to park and wheel our luggage through the car park to reception.

Good value for money. Nice gym, reasonable food, nice stuff.

Secure location, friendly and helpful staff, comfortable facilities

English as a second or third langauge can be difficult, suggest staff slow down their speech tempo if they are not fully conversant as it sounds as though words are all strung together when some of them are speaking. Local Road network around the hotel needs improvement.

Fishes

The staff is unhelpful. There is no water on arrival. I was thirsty and I had to order the water and wait for 15 mins to quench my thirst. At least provide one small bottle of water on arrival. This is Basics. What a poor welcome. The worst part is when you arrive and check in there is no porter who takes your luggage to the room. How pathetic. I had to carry my luggage all the way 500mts down the basement two floors. There is no Ramp where you can trolley it. Its a thick carpet which is retarding the wheels, so you have to lift 20 Kgs plus the Hand carry all the way, down to two floors. You have to be Arnold for that. The attitude of the staff is simply unhelpfull

The Protea Midrand is nice comfortable secure hotel near, both Pretoria and Johannesburg. The food, was very good, quality, but the breakfast was a bit overpriced. The hotel has a secure transport to everywhere, in good price.

You can not go outside anywhere, on foot just by car what is quite expensive,because in South Africa there isn't safe public transport. If you want a nice safe place, where you can go by walk, stay in Sandton, not Midrand.

I liked the atmosphere. Very spacious lounge which always welcomes you to hang around. The gym is another excellent place to be. It provided me with the energy to start my day.

Although it is accessible and comfortable, the stairs are a mission to tackle especially if you are in and out all the time and the room I had was on the far end. There was a hailstorm and the power went out on the 1st day of our stay, so we had to check out as it was too dark to shower and we couldn't boil water for baby's feeds. We had to go out for breakfast, skip showers and send my wife to the hair salon.Thankfully the staff were very understanding and refunded us for the rest of our stay Why they didn't have generators I don't know, but I will recommend it for a business stay..

Veilige omgeving, zakelijke uitstraling (niet overdreven), goede kamers, goede maaltijdvoorzieningen en plezierige bediening.

Wifi was wat traag en 100 mb gratis per dag is toch vandaag de dag wel erg weinig. Overigens zijn de meerkosten om "bij te kopen" niet hoog.

Boeking van booking.com was niet overgekomen....

Les cadres intérieur et éxtérieur de l'hotel ainsi que l'acceuil, la gentillesse et le professionalisme du personnel.

La qualité de la nourriture et les services internet pas très fonctionnels.
