Very nice stay but too short. They could also have advised that upgrade was in progress and that worked started just after 7am. Not a major issue but would have been nice to now.

This was my 3rd visit to Cape Town and previously had stayed at the Capetonian and Ritz but the Protea President was a class above. The room was very spacious and comfortable and the facilities were what I and my family expected. Staff were very courteous and helpful. The buffet breakfast was good but I think that the food served needs to be changed from time to time. During the 15 days we stayed it was the same food served every day during breakfast. The hotel must also cater for those who don't eat beef and pork. The service at the bar was very satisfactory. Unfortunately we could not enjoy the pool as the water was very cold. Overall we enjoyed our stay at the President and definitely we'll recommend the Protea chain of hotels to our friends and hopefully my family will choose another Protea hotel for our next holidays. Ther is very little to complain about. We were treated very well and the very few things we did'nt appreciate makes no difference to our whole appreciation of the quality service we wre offered.

I loved the downstairs of the hotel However when we got to the upstairs passages leading to the rooms it seemes as if not much effort was put into the passages at all , it seemed old and outdated , pictures were horrific ,well it seems as if you ran out of decor ideas !

Their dinner service from tehir staff was shocking. We were there for 4 nights and it was really bad. The one evening we came down, as a party of 5 and they refused to accomodate us as their settings were for 4. They moved us to the other end, without even setting it our properly. I will never stay there again.

A comfortable hotel with good facilities, good mix of food and excellent, attentive staff. I liked the updated rooms with fridge, microwave but there weren't any plates, bowls etc to prepare anything in which was strange. The revamped bathrooms were stylish and modern but cramped.

Great location 200 metres from beach and great views from our seaview luxury room with 2 supermarkets, restaurants and laundries 2-3 minutes walk away. Friendly staff and an excellent breakfast buffet. In fact everything you need for an enjoyavble solo or family holiday. Beach at Sea Point not great for swimming but Clifton and Camps Bay beaches are withinin 5 -10 minutes drive by car as is v&a Waterfront.

This was my 4th stay at the President, and I will keep coming back. The staff are well trained, friendly and very helpful. The location is ideal, within a 10 minute bus ride to the Waterfront and a 2 minute walk to the beach. The rooms are very well designed and exceptionally clean with all the amenities you will need. The breakfast must be the best in Cape Town and the restaurant menu is very good. A very slight smell of tobacco smoke even on no smoking floors.

The room was ok - nothing to write home about. The breakfasts were superb - lots of choice and omlette chef was smiley and helpful. The location is good - especially if you have a sea view and balcony - which we didn'T. The check in was a nightmare. We arrived early and left our luggage and were told that our room would be ready at 1.30. We got back to the hotel at 3.30 P.M. and the room still was not ready. No other rooms were available and had to hang around. Not enough information given about the facilities of the hotel - we did not know you had to get a disc for a swimming towel. People hogged the loungers - put towels and personal stuff on them when there weren't enough to go round. Hotel staff should monitor this.

The hotel is situated near the shoreline and shopping facilities. It's a clean and lovely hotel with a friendly staff. The pool was beautiful, and the breakfast was delicious. My fiance and I ate a delicious chicken and prawn curry for lunch at the hotel restaurant, and the Rotti that accompanied the dish was so awesome that it melted in your mouth like butter. I will stay in this hotel again when I return to Cape Town. Clean and very comfortable. With many foreigners amongst its guests, I felt at ease.

Good location, comfortable, good breakfast, parking. Booking totally messed up, 2 rooms booked and originally not close together and seemed that booking wasn''t registered. Even though it weas done 3 months before and paid for. Sorted out and rooms were ugraded but very low down (2nd floor) Saturday night 17th Dec there was a function near pool and it was extremely disturbing ( very loud people after 10pm) .

Anonymity and quiet The cleaning smell in the corridor is hideous - like an hospital or somewhere else unpleasant. The front desk lady did not know where the stairs were to the underground parking.

“The location of our room was superb - to go to sleep and wake up to the sound of the waves crashing on the rocks was lovely.
