The room was spacious and clean. Great location - quick cab trip or about 1km walk to the waterfront. The inside of the hotel is a bit dark. Spa was expensive.

The design Friendly staff (except for one receptionist) Quiet although you are in the city It is a window to beautiful Cape Town !! On booking they told me waterfront is only 400 m from the hotel - not true. On booking out, the reception , after asking is there was anything outstanding to pay because we leave in the night, she answers NO. At about 03h50 that night I went down to leave my room's cards at reception, and then was told I still owes money . As everything was packed to leave to be in time for our flight, I told that lady that I spesificly asked that the previous night and that according to the lady and myself there was nothing outstanding. What upset me most - the same reception lady that told me that the evening ,phoned me and accused me of lying. The one moment she could remember me asking for that and the next moment conveniently, she only remembers me asking for a wake-up call. On booking I received a total cost and I paid that in advance. The stay and everything else was fantastic, but the way that lady handle this matter, makes it into "I don't think I will stay there again". Surprisingly that night there were 2 other guest also with apparant payments outstanding - they were also checking out at night. So, maybe that reception lady must explain why she told me (and other guests) everything is paid in full and then the lady that was on duty at 03h40 did not agree with that. Sorry to say, but it put a negative feeling about this hotel . We visit the Protea hotels quite often and this was our first negative.

Kelly on the desk was fantastic -- very helpful and knowledgeable. The lady in the coffee shop who seated us for breakfast was also very pleasant (sometimes she was behind the bar making coffee). Another young man was helpful and directed me to a nearby outside laundry. The shuttle driver was also very pleasant. On several occasions when we asked a question, the staff didn't seem to know anything. We asked for a map, they said they didn't have it but another young man found one. There also should have been 2 soaps: one for the sink; one for the shower/tub. The room also needs drawers as we had to "live" out of our suitcase. Not very convenient

The staff were very friendly, helpful and efficient. Services were excellent. Rooms were comfortable and clean. The breakfast was excellent and catered a variety of foods. The pool area was well maintained and had a relaxful atmosphere although the hotel is located in the busy city. There were no shuttle services to the waterfront during the day. The shuttle services only operated from 19:00 at night. It would have been appreciated if there was at least one shuttle service to the waterfront at any time during the day considering that the hotel is situated only 500 m from the waterfront.

Clean, comfortable, good size room. Avoid room 115, the noise from the night staff will keep you awake. Not the fault of the staff, more down to design! I did'nt like paying car park fees, for a country where cars are a must to travel safely, parking should be in with the price.

The staff were very frriendly and helpfull. We only stayed one night ;but the room was clean and functional. The situation of the hotel is in easy reach of excellent restaurants and shoping and parking is avaiable under the hotel-but would be first come first served in peak season I believe- with direct access to the hotel ----- The breakfast for the price r155 I believe they could provide a hot menu cooked to order complete-rather than just the eggs to your choice- But there was plenty of cold choice so you can skip the unhealthy fatty foods. The dinning room is rather noisy as business meetings seem to take place over breakfast amongst some of the guests guess as the hotel is central in town this is the norm...... If I were a visitor to South Africa ,on vocation I would try to find another hotel - there are plenty in the same vasinity to suite all bugets - but everyone to their own......
