Overlooking Table Mountain and Robben Island, Lagoon Beach Hotel offers direct beach access in Cape Town’s Milnerton suburb.
Score from 651 reviews Good
Right on the V&A Waterfront, this 4-star hotel offers a walk-in wine cellar and a terrace with a bar. Rooms include LCD TVs and overlook the Alfred Basin or Table Mountain.
Score from 365 reviews Excellent
The chic and colorful Park Inn by Radisson Cape Town Newlands is within a quarter mile of the Sahara Park Newlands Rugby and Cricket Stadiums. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel.
Score from 83 reviews Very good
Within walking distance of the V&A Waterfront and the Cape Town central business district, this hotel offers luxurious rooms with free Wi-Fi. It features an outdoor pool and a fitness center.
Score from 69 reviews Very good
Loved the interior design of the hotel. Conveniently close to restaurants of all requirements and to the City's other hotspots.
Parking garage's bay width slightly cramped.
The loft room was amazing and gave me the feeling of being in my own home. Very spacious and moving forward all my visits to Cape Town will be spent at Protea
At the time they were doing maintenance on the lifts. This was my only issue
- Location - Comfort - Friendliness - Breakfast - Parking Have stayed here a few times now, and I am never disappointed! Friendly staff, excellent location, always clean and comfortable. And all at a reasonable price...
Great location. Efficient staff.
Very close to V&A Waterfront and most nightlife and shopping downtown Good food Wi-Fi included Extremely helpful staff Very comfortable linens and bed Nice view Smoking rooms are available and windows open for fresh air
Booking made through this site was not on their system, which made checking in a more difficult process. And when I booked through the hotel, the price was cheaper. This is booking's fault, not the hotel'S. Wi-Fi isn't fast. Paid parking is not included in your room price
location overall appearance comfortable rooms good service nice rooms
paid wifi. Put some additional cost in the room rate and offer free wifi.
Location convenient to Waterfront & Seapoint
Too much traffic noise. Shower water temperature impossible to regulate
Very pleasant staff Perfect location, rooms suite under the roof really amazing, you feel like in a five stars hotel .
the corridor cheap decoration you have the feeling to be in a old building the restaurant is sad,bad lights seem to be in Moscow in 1950's
Need for fridge in the room
Room comfortable. Air con good. Parking excellent but should be included in this up-market price.
Staff efficient but impersonal. An easy chair would make it more comfortable
Front desk and room service
The fact that on check out, i was proactively offered a refund on the breakfast that i had paid for but not taken. Haven't received the refund yet, but the principle is good.
The decor in foyer and dining area. (being 4 star I somehow expected more, but it's a matter of personal taste) Difficulty of getting luggage up stairs at entrance - should have a ramp (unless i missed it).
Staff was very friendly and helpfull. Always assisting where possible
Took my credit card and ID out of my sight to a backroom to make copies
The silence, decoration on the room and off course the location
Protea was modern and a very nice place to say. I would definitely recommend it. One note: when going out for the night to a place called Cubana 2 blocks down, security is required to be with you. Sketchy area at night but the staff definitely took care of the deal and also gave us personal cell phone numbers to call them once we were ready to head back.
The hotel is very central, close to bars, places to eat and walking distance to the center (20 mins). The room I was given was nice with a balcony and view of Cape Town stadium. Quite a modern feel to the hotel.
I have mixed feelings about this hotel, having stayed in many places in Cape Town. I think the hotel has the potential to be very good but I found the staff particularly unfriendly. No one says hello or good morning. The most friendliest member of staff was Garreth on the reception who allocated a nice room for the duration of my stay. I think that they can also pay a bit more attention to detail: i.e. serving condiments with room service, staff uniform being presented more neatly, general courtesy. I ordered a bucket of ice and it took three follow up calls and two hours to arrive. Not good. No fridge in the room, which would be useful as its a warm place. Wireless is very poor reception in the room, had to sit in the bathroom to use it. Only one lift in use, still according to reading past reviews. Come on just focus on those finer details and I think this hotel could be really excellent!
Central position; friendly and helpful staff
Good quality rooms, comfortable and quiet.
I thought that I had paid for bed and breakfast but it was bed only. It turned out to be more expensive than I thought.
The lofts are excellent especially if you are traveling with friends or family. Hotel is also conveniently located close to attractions.
Gym - small but well maintained and all new equipment, outdoor poor and sun terrace, pleasant staff, cheap secure parking, good sized rooms.
My only negative thing was the wifi was slightly tortuous - free 50MB per day but complicated method of joining required with every log on. Also, no fridge in the room.
Would of liked a sea view. Thats all.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good. Location within an easy walk of the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront.
