Interior of the house was greet
Car Packing was a problem and always not available. Road to enter there has a step hill which is risky to climb.
In regards of location, accomodation, breakfast and especially passion of the two owners you can't ask for more. We've had a perfect stay to a more than reasonable price. We would definitely book again. Highly recommended!!!
Very friendly and safe location with comforts of modern living and satellite TV. Good breakfast and service with smile. Many good restaurants near by.
Everything was absolutely great! Simply perfect! The hosts are super nice, the breakfast is outstanding, the room very clean, beautiful and spacious, the location simply perfect. We had a wonderful stay!
WIFI in the room did not really work.
Location view from rooftop
cosy bedroom with a giant modern bathroom. The hosts are very welcoming and offer their help for anything that may come up. Excellent breakfast! Amazing views from the rooftop, where breakfast is served on sunny days. We would definately stay here again !
Nothing to complain about.
Guido and Henk were extremely helpful. There are nice restaurants in the area. The wifi was very reliable.
One of the showers has no door. to get to the apartment you have to walk up steep hill. The sofa in the living room isn't very comfortable.
The Loader House apartment, which is a short two blocks from the Purple House, was great choice for us. It provided ample quarters in a safe, quiet location that was within walking distance to many attractions and several good restaurants (le café Dijon was our favourite). Henk and Guido are cheerful, wonderful hosts who went out of their way to ensure that our stay in Cape Town was enjoyable as possible. They provided recommendations and made last minute reservations for us - everything was as smooth as silk. They are great ambassadors for Cape Town and South Africa.
Henk and Guido are wonderful hosts, so welcoming and helpful. The room and bathroom are comfortable and stylish and the breakfast was excellent. Location in De Waterkant is the best place to stay in Cape Town!
When we entered the house we were really overwhelmed because it is so nice an beautiful. Henk and Guido were really helpful. We really recommend to stay in the purple house.
steps from every city attraction lovely and elegant neibouroughd friendly and professional owners healthy and huge breakfast
to be honest we loved everything
After a long flight, this is the accomodation and welcome to South Africa where you are hoping for. The room is very comfortable with rainshower, bath, big bed, enough space and excellent wifi. The location is very good with walking distance to V&A Waterfront, Bokaap and the city center. The street is quiet and supermarket and restaurants are close by. The breakfast was the best we had during 3.5 weeks travel through SA and most important the owners are very friendly, helpful and interested in their visitors.
All the help the owners assisted with in making our dinner bookings. Going the extra mile to make our stay memorable.
A very small detail but we found the single beds a little too firm compared to the luxury of the queen size bed mattress.
So central and in walking distance to the most wonderful restaurants. Such a beautiful area. The unit was well equipped and the view from the roof top deck was absolutely stunning
There was wifi in the unit but we battled at times with the signal strength
everything was great!
We loved the terrace with a view of the Table Mountain and the location was really good within walking distance from nice bars, shops and cafes. The owners were very friendly and helpful!
The second bathroom was a bit too small so when you take a shower everything inside is wet.
Excellent location. Breafast each morning was wonderful. Room was extremely comfortable and clean. The owners are great hosts and very, very helpful. Highly, highly recommend this guest house and we will return for sure.
We enjoyed the wonderful location with restaurants and shopping just down the road. The comfortable apartment with everything we needed is located in a very quiet Loader Street, yet it is right in the city. Our hosts were welcoming and supportive - we'll certainly stay here again!! (and let's not forget the glass of wine on the terrace surrounded by the beauty of the Cape!)
The location, the view from the roof area, the facilities in the apartment and the general friendliness of all the people really contributed to making our stay memorable.
The Wifi was very slow but eventually we relaxed so much while on holiday, we forgot about it. Won't be good enough for doing basic things on the web though.
Very personal, Henk and Guido are doing a great job. We would like to say a big thank you for their hospitality and warm welcome. They gave us very good recommendations for dinner and sightseeing. Very safe place to stay, good possibilities for shopping and food stores.
Having travelled to 75 countries, I have stayed in everything from the Hilton in Cairo, to pods in Tokyo but the Purple House in Cape Town is somewhere special, somewhere which becomes home rather than another faceless hotel. Within five minutes of arrival, we were relaxing on the roof terrace drinking tea overlooking Table Mountain. The room offered you space to relax either by watching television on the chez lounge or sinking into the bubbles in the perfect bathroom. The wine shop, ATM, local supermarket for nibbles or a range of restaurants are a one minute walk away in this lovely, lively but quiet part of Cape Town. Walk down or take a quick taxi ride to the waterfront. Each morning, choose when you want your breakfast while awaking under the waterfall shower before choosing from a range of coffees and realising that a healthy breakfast (with a few naughty bits) really can taste good! Book Robben Island before on the net although it is not a highlight and contact the Purple House who will happily help you book any trips before you arrive with an excellent tour company. We recommend the Seal Island and the Cape of Good Hope trip along with a Township tour. While this may read like a travel brochure, it really is that good. We arrived as strangers and left having two more friends in this world. The Purple House will make Cape Town for you.
We had a very comfortable, clean 2 bdrm apt. The location was very convenient with good shopping, and restaurants galore. Henk took us to the apartment which was just 2 blocks from their B&B. We had a quick orientation, and lots of advice about local attractions, and suggestions for dining (Beluga, an easy walk on a warm night was a sensational choice). We could not take advantage of the roof top terrace, but it would have been a great spot to relax with some drinks and snacks and look over the city. We couldn't get the TV to work, and Guido popped right over to set it up. Next morning we were sitting outside having breakfast at the Café that Henk had recommended, when he suddenly appeared to see how we were doing, and took a family photo for us. The facility, location and hospitality all made us sorry that we did not have the time for a longer stay. Highly recommended. But have good directions, as our Navi kept stopping a few blocks away.
A modern, well appointed property which was very well managed by Guido throughout our stay. He provided excellent and attentive service at all times without being intrusive. Very much a home from home in an area with a variety of excellent bars and restaurants walking distance from the V&A Waterfont. Added to this the neighbourhood was safe, well policed and unthreatening. We would have no hesitation in recommending this Purple House to anyone planning to visit capetown in the future.
Leaving! Seriously there was absolutely nothing about our stay that we didn't like.
The top terrace, with it's amazing views of Table Mountain and the sea. Best place to have breakfast and sundowners! The location of the house: very quiet street, within easy walking distance of a very good supermarket and nice coffee shops and restaurants.
The en-suite shower of the double bedroom. It doesn't have a door, causing water to splash into the rest of the bathroom, which needs to be mopped after each shower.
We liked the friendliness and helpfulness of the owners. The location is beautiful and added to that the rooftop terrace with the view.
