the location the room the staff
Had a fabulous stay and the staff couldn't do more for you especially Mo who was exceptional . Thank you for such a great time and we will definitely be back
Loved it... Would recommend to everyone.
First stay was perfect (room 1209)
Second stay we got worst room despite we were promised another room when we left. No one got back to us with any kind of apologise or even action to make up despite we were told it would be checked what could be done. Room was facing parking on all sides (1101) and curtains needed to be kept closed all day as permanently people were standing outside or walking pass. Very disappointing second stay.
The design ,the cleanliness ,the position
We could not sleep as room 1215 is above the street entrance and was very noisy !
One of the best hotels I've ever stayed in worldwide. I travel extensively and rarely write or rave about many hotels, but The Queen Victoria is a gem. The staff are amazing throughout the entire hotel. Mo, in particular on the front desk is just fabulous. The rooms are large, beautifully appointed with comfortable beds and massive bathrooms. Could not find one thing wrong with this hotel and I tried...
We have stayed in many luxurious hotels in recent years all over the world, but the service received in this hotel surpassed then all! The staff were so very attentive to all our needs and friendly and personal too. Earlier this year we stayed at the One and Only across the road. This hotel is rated as possibly the best in Cape Town. In my opinion the service was not a patch on the Queen Victoria! The hotel was boutique in style, well situated above the Waterfront and the rooms and bathrooms were lovely. The restaurant 'Dash' is rated as one of the best in Cape Town too. So to the staff at the Queen Victoria, thanks for making our stay so enjoyable and as a regular visitor to South Africa - we will be back! I think I must add two small criticisms to give this review balance. The WiFi although free and quite quick, kept logging us out every five minutes, which was incredibly frustrating and that need to sort their pillows out. All our pillows, and we requested a number, were each as bad and this caused us some partially sleepless nights. Apart from those small items - well done QV we were well impressed!
The Wifi disconnects after about 5 minutes of non-use. The pillows were too hard!
The staff went out of their way to make sure that everything about the stay was wonderful. The car service is an excellent option and the availability of bikes is well worth using.
The welcome and the support, the friendliness of all the waiting staff in the restaurant and bar, the proximity to the Q&A Waterfront area, the unbelievably excellent a la carte food when we dined in the restaurant and the quiet, oh and the Spa.
Being challenged on walking through the Dock House to the pool.
Location Staff Breakfast Cleaning Everything..
Spotlessly clean throughout. Fabulous staff. Couldn't fault it. Would highly recommend but perhaps not for very young children.
Staff were very polite and helpful at all times, breakfasts excellent nd the one Dinner we had was very nice but on that occasion a little slow due a table of 16 being just in front of us .
I reported a tap leak to maid first day and still not fixed when I left, this leak if used quite severe and would have caused expensive damage!
The concierge went above the call of duty in his service to me over the time my nephew and I stayed. The staff and servers were very attentive. The breakfast buffet was delicious!
I use a rollator (a.k.a. walker on wheels) to get around so the suite was way too large for me. My nephew would of course disagree. In fact, I'm sure that my bachelor apartment here in Toronto could fit three times within the suite.
Very friendly staff , comfortable room, very good food, great location. Def recommend it
No pool, but use of pool in sister hotel next door
Extremely helpful and kind staff, good decor, spacious rooms, superb location, delicious cupcakes left by the bed , excellent breakfast ( taste and serving) , every moment of our stay.
Great location. Informative staff. Stunning rooms. Very clean. Hotel is discreet and perfect location if you want to be close to the waterfront. Lovely beds.
Although it was difficult to find, the location was perfect. lots to do in the area and a magnificent view of Table mountain from our room.
Be clear you are paying for the location of the hotel and possibly the view from your room. Don't expect too much else that justifies the price.
Being near to Waterfront
The curtains blocks out the daylight but is too far away from windows so the daylight comes out on the sides.
The location is very convenient.
Attention to detail of the room service staff was poor. There was no comfortable way of in room dining. Shower floor dangerously slippery. TV channels poor reception quality.
The location was amazing, right across the street from the waterfront.
Upgrade to Dock house provided nice if oddly designed room, excellent bed and general feeling of quality and luxury. Very pleasant gardens Very friendly staff
Service could be slow - once there was more than about 2 people at breakfast...I waited up to 30 minutes for food Bizarre arrangement where on Sunday morning in glorious sunshine the staff decided to mow the lawns making it very noisy and awkward to sit in the one outside area Wifi needed repeated restarting
Everything from a hearty breakfast, right to the friendly staff and ever so comfortable rooms.
Excellent location, very friendly staff and AMAZING restaurant! Excellent breakfast. The hotel is quite new and everything was very clean. Excellent choice and I would definitely book this hotel again.
The TV image and the channel choices were very limited, however it is a small detail for such a wonderful hotel.
The cosines and relax atmosphere. Very close to the best shopping centre.
Hard to tell.
location large rooms bathroom
limited nb of TV channels breakfast buffet , limited in choice
