Room rate becoming more expensive at every visit for no reason at all!!

the aircondition was very loud in the room and despite complaint it was not fixed; the fitness center is very poorly equipped; on some days there was no free water on the room

The toilet seat was broken making it uncomfortable to use. The boiler broke down during the night meaning that there was no hot water for a shower in the morning. When the maintenance man came after a 15 minute wait to investigate we were informed of the problem and told there was no telling when it would be fixed. The breakfast room tables were left dirty. We had to ask for them to be cleared. The hotel does not live up to what it bills itself as.

Location

We booked a view with city skyline and got a new building site with associated noise 06:30 in the morning.

It was in a safe area, and near Sandton huge shopping mall.

The staffs in reception were like robots. In the concierge they were not helpful. They told us there is no red sightseeing bus in the city, and they booked us a very expensive privet city tour.

tha location is very good - next to the Galtrain station and easy to commun to Air port. The room are quit good and the breakfast very very good.

I couldn't get enough information about how to travel in town. I was pushed to take the taxi through the hotel which was very expensive (the driver told us that from this amount he gest just a small sum) to get to the Fort and Constitutional Hill which could be reached by train. I coudn't get to the Apartheid Museum just by an organized tour of the hotel which would have cost me above 1000 Rand.

The food was great and the guid that took me to the lion park was first class

Staff well trained, friendly and efficient. The hotel is situated across the road from the entrance to the Gautrain station (hence the name Gautrain Hotel). The restaurant was excellent and the chef does a very good job. I also liked to see that the staff all seemed happy. The express checkout is great. My luggage was stored for the day after checkout. When I collected the bag one of the (in)famous Johannesburg hailstorms hit Sandton. They organised their shuttle bus (without me asking) to take me to the gautrain station. I would have been absolutely drenched had I walked or ran over the road.

The fact that you cannot use a staircase and have to use the elevator to go from e.g. floor 3 to floor 4 or 9 to 10. At breakfast I foudn the waitering staff a bit slow and the coffee was really awful. The price of the wine is also somewhat steep. The same for the goods in the little fridge in the room. I also found the aircon a bit too noisy for my liking.

My daughter and I stayed at the hotel for three nights. I cannot find one fault. The service and the staff were amazing and so friendly and considerate. We highly recomend this hotel and the location is fantastic. Wonderful and keep up the amazing standard!

Room! Concierge services!

The service during breakfast was not bad, it was simply non-existent. We did not have cutlery and was never offered coffee / tea. We had to ask for cutlery. The table was never cleared. The chef area was dirty and the food reserves depleted. The toast was burnt twice with smoke filling the whole breakfast area.

My booking was not in the system, despite the fact that I had a booking number and print out from Booking.com. The hotel solved the problem, but it is unacceptable that this happens. This was the second problem in South Africa on this trip. In Cape Town, the agent who was supposed to let us into the apartment could not be contacted. We had to find alternate accomodation, unacceptable after 27 hours of travelling.

Food selection, both for breakfast and other meals was impressive. It included health foods like seed, nuts in addition to other foods that support low calory diets. It's also a short walking distance from the mall, which is convenient for shopping and dining.

Just ok, restaurant closes early..

Good location, nice and comfortable rooms. Beautifull bar/lobby.

The bar closes before 11 p.m. even on a friday night. The rooms are very nice, but there is a window in the bathroom that limits the privacy. The rates are too expensive for what it is. It's a nice hotel, but not suitble to it's prices.

Drain in the shower did not let water out fast enough, resulting in a flooded bathroom. Room too dark - need better lighting

its close proximity of the Gautrain station. you can walk to the station and back especially if you stay is limited in JHB. The staff is freindly and efficient and porfessional. Internet is free, and it works! the rooms is spacious mordern and comfortable.
