The 4-poster! :) The heater in the bathroom. The room we had did not have a view - and the reason I went to Clarens was so that I could relax with a view... The pictures seemed to suggest that there was a view from a bedroom balcony - perhaps the booking could be more specific as to whether you had a private balcony and if it had a view. The bath mat was filthy. The room was cold.

Prime position, everything within walkin distance. During our stay it was uncomfortably hot and humid, very unusal according to the local people, air conditioning might be asking for too much but a fridge in the room would have been very welcome.

Overlooked the fact that only "children over 12 are welcome" while booking, but they were quite nice about us having a baby in the room. Bathroom is spotless with good heater. Perfect location in center of town. Breakfast limited to certain things (eg. Cappuccino costs extra); we ate elsewhere anyway. Mattresses are worn, not so comfortable. Ask for rooms 1-4 - they look out onto the mountains; 5-8 are above the restaurant below - quiet but dark.

It was the perfect location within Clarens. It was comfortable with very friendly staff. It catered perfectly for the winter months with a fireplace and heater in the room but did not cater for the summer months as there was no aircon in the room and no bar fridge facility for us to keep water or cooldrinks cold

Comfortable room, very good location. Friendly person at the reception. I saw on the booking.com site that there were earlier complaints about the breakfast arrangement, but we were happy with the arrangement to walk 100 meters to a nearby restaurant and had a nice breakfast there. Well prepared fire place which we used. No staff present when you arrive after 5 pm. However, we were informed of this in advance and there was a letter with instructions etc. waiting for us, so we could let ourselves into the rooms we booked. I do believe that the rooms should be priced a bit lower.
