Royal Palm Gateway Hotel    

Great room, value for money. Very clean.

Service could be better. Filled in my breakfast request form so that I can have it in the room however it was still hanging on my door in the morning. No one picked it up. Would be nice to have adapters / chargers on request for business travelers.

loved the location, a walking distance from the mall.

The room was very nice and confortable. It is my second time in the hotel.

The service given from one member of the staff called Zamo Silangwe. I was surprise with his attitude and especially in South Africa where the service is always perfect. I felt like he did not want to work, he did not welcome me well and did not explain me anything. When I asked him about the internet process, I felt like I was disturbing him; and he just answer me: connect by your computer and put your card details...so I told him the internet expenses need to appear on the bill and just said yes it will...but he did not on my depart. On my first visit it also had an issue with another client ;-( I will not come back in my next business trip if he still there

I have stayed at Royal Palm previously but this time I was disappointed at the cleanliness of the room. I found a half eaten sandwich in the second bedroom, the carpets and couches were stained and very dusty. I could not sit on the couch in the lounge because the smell affected my sinuses. I informed the gentleman at reception and he sent up a cleaning staff to have a look at the room. When I showed her what I was not happy with she advised that she did not clean the room but it was the ladies from the earlier shift that cleaned it. She said to me that she would be back with her cleaning detergents to clean the room but she never pitched up. The stale sandwich still remain on the floor. My family and I really enjoyed staying at Royal Palm but at the rate the standard is dropping, I don't think that I would book at this hotel again. Regards Ashnee

The Hotel Room was modern and neat

Hotel staff we slow and not attentive

Lampshades in room were loose from fitting. Door did not close fully and had to be hand closed to click the lock (reported at the time)

Location is good next to gateway shopping mall. Quiet during the night (we face inside), private patio is nice to have!

Breakfast staff wasn't that friendly.

have to wait 15 minutes to have a porter to take the luggage from the room hotel tried to charge for service not provided (until I strongly objected)

Rooms were huge the junior suite is a small flat basically and well equiped

D rooms are awesome, spacious and also right next 2 Gateway shopping centre

Clean, spacious, decent location, staff were better trained than in some other hotels in SA

Ease of access to shops and Umhlanga beach great hotel that is affordable great features great staff and friendliness very professional clean and well looked after

there was no sign in the front of the hotel to direct guests to the back of the hotel to find the under cover parking. I parked outside and got a ticket when my meter expired.

The restuarant can be improved, the environment there is not of the same class as the rest of the hotel

Pas de room service apres 22.30. problematique lorsque les restaurant alentours ferment a la meme heure. Mini bar non approvisionne, seulement sur demande du client Suite Junior mal agencee Service loin d'etre a la hauteur pour un tarif de 150Euros par nuit
