The restaurant, the hosts, the room, the balcony overlooking the river, breakfast, taking their canoes out and finding a river turtle. This place was an unexpected gem.
The bathroom was quite small and the terrace was shared with other guests but these are such minor things in the scheme of such a wonderful place
Very welcoming hosts who directed us to the various walks and local features. We enjoyed canoeing on the lagoon from the back garden. The food was fantastic, both dinner in the restaurant and the breakfasts. A lovely spot.
Loved the restaurant and not having to drive afterwards. Friendly hosts.
Great hospitality, Top notch restaurant! Great food, Michelin star level.
Great, very personal service and best breakfast on our journey.beautiful view, overlooking the river. And the outstanding, amazing restaurant is worth a whole travel!!!
The owner and staff was very friendly and helpful. Great view over the river. Nice breakfast with yoghurt, fresh fruit, bread, pancakes, croissants etc.
Breakfast was superb. Rooms were lovely with nice shared patio area outside overlooking the garden and river. Hosts were very helpful. We only stayed 2 nights but Wilderness is an excellent central base for visiting lots of towns and attractions on the Garden Route. We ate in the restaurant both nights of our stay, food is superb.
We liked the position and the facilities offered and the willingness of the staff and proprietor to make us feel at home
We thought the dinner was overblown and fussy, I like to choose my own wine and thought the wine served was not what I would have chosen, (I am a Burgundy man not a Bordeaux man and that which was served was a Bordeaux style Cabernet Sauvignon blend. When will restaurateurs learn that people (who are not food snobs) like a little more substance than a decorated plate.
Lovely guest house and superb restaurant. Dinner & breakfast were both outstanding and without doubt the best we ate during our 2 weeks holiday in January. Absolutely nothing was too much trouble for the charming hosts and they went out of their way to make our time there so very memorable.
Nothing to dislike
Beautiful tranquil setting overlooking the river. Lovely view from the bedroom. Delicious breakfast with plenty of freshly baked goodies to more than wet the appetite.
Excellent location. Warm & friendly place. Comfortable rooms. Balcony overlooking river is good place to relax. Good walks nearby. Absolutely delicious haute cuisine produced by Lizelle for dinner in the restaurant whilst Rudolf is a brilliant & entertaining host!
Dinners in the restaurant have to be paid for separately from accommodation. Lack of shaving point in bathroom.
Rooms were lovely. Awesome facilities.
Did not like the presumption and pressure on us to have supper at the guesthouse. Very, very expensive meal so we ate out which did not go down well. Breakfast was very elegant but sparing. Were still hungry afterwards.
Very hospitable and comfortable Country House, everything beautifully done.
