Living at very low impact level Far in the bush
Very far away from main Kruger- entrance (95 km while booking calculator indicated 11 km), and moreover camp is badly indicated once you are on the right track. All in all less game than we experienced in other reserves and 'not cheap'
Very personable staff, excellent location & camp, no crowded viewings as only 2 jeeps in the park/camp, great wildlife, decent catering, lovely atmospheric camp fire setting for dinner, good wi-fi, very comfortable "tents", great VFM, so it was a fantastic 1st time safari experience for us. THANK YOU. Lee & Linda
The fact we only had 3 days there!! Went on to a more expensive allegedly better, more luxurious lodge camp, but we felt it wasn't as good as our stay at Shindzela in many respects.
Great staff, extremely comfortable "tents", decent food, good camp location & atmosphere, very personable guides/trackers, only 2 jeeps in the camp/park so no overcrowding at viewings, good wildlife sightings, so a brilliant 1st safari experience for us!
Having to leave after 3 days for a bigger, "posher" lodge camp, which for the additional cost wasn't any better than Shindzela!
Friendly Reception Fantastic Location Great Facilities Amazing Food Informative Staff Awesome Safari Drives Great Service, friendly staff Great for relaxing
The staff were very friendly. The food was average for a bush camp, always fresh. The game drives were well run, and on time.
The condition of the tented camps, need to be renovated, felt like the floor boards were going to collapse when trodden on. NOT good location, if you need to contact business associates in a crisis, as there is NO reception in the area.
This is a magical place, we only wish our schedule and budget had allowed for more than one night here - but even so we had a full and memorable 24 hours thanks to the excellent, carefully worked out schedule. The camp is beautiful, we could happily have spent all day there, just watching the wildlife from the tent verandah or the welcoming bar area. But we also could not have missed the long game drives, with guides who literally could spot a chameleon from fifty paces and who clearly took pride in giving their guests the best possible views of the wildlife. The tents were very comfortable, with nice touches like turned down beds, and we liked the meals, taken on the deck and under the stars, and preceded by drums and a formal reading-out of the menu. The fact that there is no fence made the whole experience doubly exciting - yet it felt safe at all times, thanks to the staff. We would definitely come back here, and would recommend it to anyone wanting to get close to nature.
Some folks left very early for their flight - 4am - so if you are a light sleeper like me maybe ask for a tent far away from the reception. But no earplugs, or you will miss the hyenas calling!
Wonderful experience. Sleeping in the middle of the park in a tent, eating dinner outside by the fire
Game drives started late.
A proper bush safari experience. Real fun, real tracking. Excellent staff.
Lunch being at 3pm when it wasn't your arrival day
Sam, our guide was wonderful! Good beds, tents comfortable. Food plentiful and tasty.
Exciting, an authentic outdoor experience not missing out on the necessary comfort. Friendly staff and very informative guides... Very laid back atmosphere.
Great staff, excellent setting. A true bush and wilderness experience. If you want something more authentic, that´s the choice.
Great staff, location has tremendous access to animals, focus is on the activity, rather than luxury accomodations, giving good value.
