This is a grand old house that is best described as well lived in. Needs a bit of updating. The pool needs some attention. Not at all inviting. I don’t understand why they don’t just get an expert in to give it a thorough clean without doing it themselves.
The staff are wonderful.

A real student town but also filled with international tourists so a good mix of places to suit both crowds. Some good value for money eateries such as Java and Die Vrije Burger, and also high end restuarants for those with a bigger budget. The mall has all the main shops and its easy to walk about town or even go by bike. Close to explore the wine areas around town , but also for a beach visit at The Strand. So close to beach and berg.
It was an absolute pleasure to stay at Coopmanhuijs Boutique Hotel & Spa in Stellenbosch! Every staff member went the extra mile to make us feel welcome and we loved everything including the spacious and well equipped room, lovely bathroom with nice Charlotte Rhys products, daily update on the weather and load-shedding as well as the treat (such a nice touch!), the friendly turn-down service, plus then a great freshly prepared breakfast on top. Can’t recommend this hotel and its team highly enough. Thank you for another superb stay!
Laanhof is a beautiful old house, very spacious, with large kitchen and sitting are to share, and with very nice rooms. It did not feel like a hotel or so, rather like being a guest in someones private and gorgous home. Communication with the managers was perfect with fast replies and great flexibility about arrival time. Everything was super clean, the bed comfy, the location perfect. It‘s a really special and beautiful place to stay in Stellenbosch.
The hotel is located between Stellenbosch & Franschoek and had amazing views on the mountains. The garden and swimming pool are really stunning. The room was very spacious, comfortable bed and big bathroom. Staff was really friendly and did their utmost to make my stay comfortable. There is a very relaxed atmosphere which makes you really able to rest and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.
This is a great hotel with little houses. You get an apartment with two rooms, kitchenette. The breakfast was amazing, ask for the omelette. The Wingerd restaurant is great for a nice dinner with a variety of wines. The hotel is surrounded by a breathtaking area of mountains and vineyards. One of the best hotels we have stayed in for a very long time. The room was spacious, the bed was comfortable, the staff were lovely, the facilities were excellent and the breakfast was delicious! Highly recommend and will definitely book again if we make our way through Stellenbosch again. Could not fault anything! Thank you for a wonderful stay!
Well located in the center of Stellenbosch. We stayed one night at the self catering apartment a few minutes walk from the hotel. There was a private security guard during the night, even though the neighbourhood seemed very quiet and safe. We could have stayed longer!
Modern, clean, stunning and excellent location in a quiet area. The fire stove was great to use in the middle of winter. This must definitely rate among the best of self catering places in the Stellenbosch area.

Charming property nestled amongst the big Oak trees of Van der Stel St in the better part of Stellenbosch. The room was very comfortable, the area very quiet, and the staff was friendly and helpful.
We had a very spacious room and terrace with a lovely view of the vineyards. We also had a lovely wine tasting and fell in love with their Portwine. It’s just a short drive to get to Stellenbosch
fab self catering chalet with enough rooms/beds for 6. amazing serenity and outlook on the wine farm with benefit of on site restaurant and wine tasting. wished we had more than 1 night.
Absolutely adored the "boho" vibe indoors and loved soaking up the lively buzz of Stellenbosch. Everything you need, from shops to restaurants, is just a stroll away.
