A rare example of South African's Art Deco, Hotel Edward overlooks the Indian Ocean from its location right on Durban's Golden Mile.
Score from 101 reviews Good
friendly staff who is always willing to assist,
maintanance of the lifts , i was relly dissapointed that we waited over an hour , being having a knee injury and had to use the stairs was realy not somthing that i was looking forwatd to on a holiday
The buffet restaurant
The cleaning staff most unfriendly, the rooms were very moist. Bed most uncomfortable, parking is a nightmare. Location of hotel is not in a safe vaccinity hence parking and walking to and from another location is not what we expected. The room itself has a very muggy smell.
The proximity to the beach
I would have preferred 2 relaxing chairs in each room than 1.
Rooms and swimming pool for children
Wifi is free (500Mb/day) excellent pool area Buffet restaurant is v good.
Breakfast shud be inckluded
Locations is perfect. The food was great.
No gowns and sleepers provided. Smokers inconviniecing others as they smoke with their room doors opened.
front of house staff were pleasant and performed within their parameters
lacked cleanliness - hairpin, cotton etc. on corridor carpet in same spot for more than 4 days. unsupervised minors allowed at computers for lengthy periods of time - should have a more responsible policy in place
Food Hotel Room sea facing- excellent Staff Confortability
I know most Hotels do give out username and password for wifi log in, issue these out when we check in. very important
Parking Space is too small
With over 700 rooms the amount of noise in this hotel is absolutely ridiculous! With children running and screaming in the corridors, dining rooms, foyer and not to even talk about the overcrowded swimming pools. This is like visiting a school with over 2000 pupils on a parents evening with all the children present!
Food was great and hospitality from staff.
Friendly staff and quite helpfull.Facilities good but a bit crouded.
Nothing in particular.
The towels are not good quality. My head and body was full of peeling cotton.
I liked the welcome and friendliness and neatness and cleanliness of the hotel
The location is good but the outskirts is very dirt with a stench of urine from beachgoers. FDor the price breakfast should have been included.
Parking is a serious problem, I checked in on 25/12/2014 and I was told that the parking was full, however, other guests who checked in after me were given parking bays within the hotel.
location , facilities, rooms , food, availability of taxis.
reception desk staff attitude. They were irritable and failed to compliment the happy mood we were in.
Staff attendance very professional and friendly , room view was great
Bed too small, room decor poor, long queus for reception and meals, no parking availible, internet poor, too expensive for quality provided, too croweded and noisy at bar, room too small
