The reception staff where very incompetent. They could find our booking because we used the internet. We then moved rooms three times as the first room didn't have beds made. Second room had a broken mirror and loose light fittings. The final room had iron stains on the linen but we were tired of moving. The restaurant had very few drinks listed in the menu. We ordered room service breakfast and 15 mins after ordering where told the menu had changed and didn't have half the food listed. Definitely not a 5 star hotel. Very dissapointing.
The ambience the location the rooms are spacious.
The fact there is no elevator.
We traveled as two couples just for Leisure. We all did not know what to expect from St Andrews but on reaching there we were all mesmerized! St Andrews is such a nice, cozy, peaceful hotel. Situated in a quite corner on a very Serene atmosphere! The staff were on point, ready to assist you and very friendly too. I would recommend St Andres Spa any day any time!
Very nice stay . Was pleasant and relaxing
There was paint spilt on the carpets going up all the steps which I'm sure by now is gone and cleaned but it took away from the smartness of the hotel .
The best omelet i have ever had
I stayed six nights at the St Andrews. My room was huge and very comfortable. There is a very nice swimming pool and garden. The restaurant was very very nice. Try the carpaccio, the lamb shank, fillet steak and Pemba grilled fish. The cooked breakfast was excellent. But the best about St Andrews was the lovely and helpful staff.

Complete muddle with the booking, no room service after 10:30, and housekeeping did not leave any toilet paper in the bathroom - or anywhere!
It took 6 hours to fix the wifi. The taxi service for the hotel is outrageous - driver was late for half an hour from the appointed time, did not know the city at all and didn't have a navigator, so we have been hopelessly lost in one of the most dangerous areas of Johannesburg, where he stopped and asked people on the street for directions. Half of the hotel is on renovation, our room was warn out. The staff was friendly, but seemed like they didn't know what they are doing. The hotel could not change dollars and do not accept it for payment, so if there is a card payment system failure - you have all chances to be late for your plane.
Quiet, secure location, lovely views, helpful staff, attractive ambience, amazingly spacious room.
Undergoing refurbishment at present, but that will soon be sorted out.
Pillowcases were hard they were not comfortable.
Room was fine. My expectation was very high from a 5 star hotel.

They were busy refurbishing and we were not advised so the noise from that was not great. WiFi was shocking - infact we still waiting for the manager to call us. They changed us to a different room where it was a little bit better but not great - kept losing connection no real comfy place you can sit in and read/relax (unless it's in the Summer ofcourse where you can lounge around the pool) My Spa booking via e-mail was never acknowledged
Located close to a highway (noisy). Hotel wants to appear stylish, but something is missing (sad, cold) - I did not feel confortable in the room/ the Hotel in general

Construction was going on during our stay without being notified about it when making the booking. Staff were untidy and unprofessional. Rooms were not worth the rates and while amenities were available they were not offered, eg. the minibar fridge is in the room but not stocked?
The location was quiet which is what I wanted. Staff well trained and friendly. Resturant was pleasant and served above average dishes.
Hotel was in the process of being renovated which caused some irritation with noise and privacy.
Clean spacious rooms with very nice onsuite
My reservations was not done correctly it was a month later they put me in a bad situasian ive paid upfront they have no evedince theiroff ther was no roomservice no answer when you call their inhouse nr for help or roomservice was only at 10 in the evening
The staff were very friendly and helpful, espcially considering that we arrived just before midnight. The rooms are very spacious and clean.
In comparison to other hotels in Bedfordview, St. Andrews is expensive but the location and comfort of the rooms is great.

Large room & bathroom - Comfortable bed
- rooms are large, spacious, and fine decoration. bathroom is large as well, - personnel quite nice and available for answering to questions,
WIFI very unstable, as if being in south African bush on a 3G USB key... very un sufficient ! Finishing of deluxe rooms too "African": - carpet with a big joint cut open in the middle of the room, - 1 of the 2 design basin in the bathroom badly fitted, water coming out on the floor, - more worrying, bay window on first floor, not closing (so any intruder possibly coming in any time of day or night, by sliding the bay window....
The room was extremely spacious. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good.
The air conditioner in the room kept switching itself off, which meant the room was, at times, uncomfortably warm.
