The Stellenbosch Hotel    

It is very central to all the wine farms and markets and it had an old worldly charm.

1) It is very noisy at night, albeit understandable with it mostly being a student town. 2) Having to wait for the gate to be opened for you. Maybe consider a remote or code system for residents or a sensor when you want to leave the parking garage.

Location and price

The setting is perfect - close to all the shops and restaurants. The Victorian style room was beautiful.

Maybe the absence of a shower.

Very central in Stellenbosch - Excellent, friendly service and very helpful reception who went out of their way to ensure we were comfortable. Good breakfasts. Reasonable rates in comparison to some other hotels - value for money. Will definitely recommend and will be back!

Can be a little noisy from street cafe but not a real problem.

coffee cups are too small, I bought a mug for my morning coffee. that someone had to open the garage gate every time. would have liked a double bed duvet as a single traveller, instead of 2 single bed duvets

The location of the hotel, the staff, the whole environment. We had a bit of a problem with our bath, but it was sorted out immediately.

The building was lovely and the rooms quaint. Breakfast delicious too! The porter was extremely helpful.

The receptionist was not very welcoming and came across quite rude. Possibly could do with some hospitality training.

Staff attitude at desk was poor being woken up at 10.45pm and told to move my car as hotel had put me in a private parking bay on arrival we had 2 single beds-i clearly asked for a double bed( we were moved promptly )

Good breakfast and central location. Room was comfortable.

The breakfast was relatively nice and the location was central.

The rooms were below average, I have had private rooms at backpakers nicer than this. The reception staff were not helpful or friendly.

Everything was perfect. From the staff, to the parking, to the food, the rooms, all excellent!!!

Overall a great stay, staff extremely friendly and well-trained.

The relaxed laid back comfortable location, friendly staff. Good pub and restaurant. Excellent food.

On the website where I booked, it stated that breakfast was included, but when I got there, they said that it wasn'T.

Conveniently situated in the heart of Stellenbosch - you can park your car at the hotel and walk where ever you need to go.

Great location--was able to walk to wine festival in city center. Staff was quite friendly. Room was clean.

Our room was cramped--room #19 should be avoided if you're over 6 feet tall. Staff follow-through was less than stellar on an A/C issue that we tried to address twice before getting resolution.

Location and the friendlyness of the staff.

I was in room 20 which did not have an aircon or fan. I was kept awake the night by the heat and the mosquitoes. The hotel should at least provide mosquito repellant in the rooms that do not have fans or aircon. Thank you.

Reception staff were fantastic.

Cooked breakfast was not great at all, scrambled eggs were like old rubber and bacon was so hard. Would rather have hot breakfast to order.
