Everything is good, besides access to Internet. Connection is weak and unstable. I was on a business-trip to Stellenbosch University and suffered very much that in the evening and at night I had no possibility to work!

Decent 3 star accommodation right in the town centre at an affordable price. Has its own pub and restaurant and served a good breakfast buffet. Secure parking was appreciated. They could improve maintenance as some room and bathroom fittings required repairs or replacement eg cracked wash hand basin. The sattelite tv channel selection was rather limited.

Don't go here. They first tried to give me a very small room on the top floor, just below the roof. I could hardly stand in the room and as it was a very hot day the temperature in the room was almost unbearable, the ac very old and hardly working. When I wanted to shower I had to call reception for towels. And when I wanted to use the toilet I found out it hadn't be cleaned! At that moment I decided I had enough. They gave me another (slightly better) room. The receptionist told me I was absolutely right: he wouldn't have accepted the room himself (then don't offer it!). I''ve been often to Stellenbosch and luckely there are much better places very close to this one. They won't see me again.

Fantastic location in the centre of Stellenbosch. Friendly and helpful staff. It was lovely sitting outside having a coffee or a drink and watch the world go by. Very central to all the vineyards and the staff helped us choose different vineyards to go to and can organise tours. Breakfast was delicious with lots of choice. Our room was a little small for two people and two large suitcases but we only booked it the night before and it was in January so of course it was very busy, we should have booked in advance, that is the reason why we gave 'comfort' a 'good' and not an 'excellent' But overall the comfort of the general hotel is excellent.

Put us in the heart of the action in Stellies. Nice! Staff at the hotel were very courteous and took care of our every need with ease. Thanks guys! Bathroom facilities could use some work.

Situated within walking distance to restaurants etc. The hotel is very quaint. Is is very well situated for parents visiting children who are studying at the University. Price was very reasonable. Sorry but the breakfast was awful. The fresh fruit was lovely and so were the croissants. The beef sausage was gross - the bacon tasteless. Generally unappealing. We stayed at the Cape Town Lodge last night and the breakfast was brilliant. You don't need a huge choice of food. I would rather have less and have good quality. It's a pity because the Jan Cat? is a very old restaurant.

It is in an absolute perfect location. Off street parking is an issue even after you have pre-arranged it! The hotel staff are far from friendly and helpful, and there seems to be a general lack of interest in providing help and / or paid for services to guests.

Very well kept and restored old hotel, nice design. Even though the upstairs rooms are very nicely designed and decorated, they were very noisy because of the wooden structure. This resulted in an uncomfortable feeling where this aspect more or less downgraded the room as one in a cheap Formula 1 French highway hotel, since you could hear every word which was spoken by the neighbors on both sides, also caused by the en-suite doors (even though they were closed).

Great location. Our attic room was just too small, the very old air conditioning unit was too loud and the room was not very clean. However, it was quiet cheap by comparison to other around about so I guess you get what you pay for.

We were given a warm welcome and a free uprade from third floor studio room to a courtyard level room. The central location is ideal for sightseeing and shopping.

The friendliness of the staff and the relaxed and warm welcome. The breakfasts are also great. This is the second time I have stayed at the hotel and it has been wonderful on both visits. Staff are caring and helpful.

The staff were very nice and helpful The hotel is ugly with bad smell. The room was cold, small and old. We asked for another room and were provided a room which was just renovated with strong smell of wall paint. Eventually we decided not to stay there and found another hotel. At least they were fair enoug to give us our money back. For just a little more money you can get a much better room. Terrible value for money

The room was lovely and quaint. Very comfortable bed, nice bathroom. The room was clean and spacious. The staff at the Stellenbosch Hotel were very friendly. Excellent location, right in the centre of town. The included breakfast was really good. There was a heater in the room, necessary as it was cold in Stellenbosch. The free WIFI didn't work in my room (but I could use in the reception area). The reception area was cold.

Breakfast is very good and combines items from English and continental breakfast. The room was spacious, clean and cozy. The hotel is located near restaurants, shops and coffee shops. The private parking under the hotel is very convenient, since there are limited parking space outside. Both wi-fi and parking are free. This hotel is a great place to stay when visiting the vineyards nearby.
