This is a beautiful small boutique hotel in Cape Town, 5 minutes walk from the v & a and very central. The staff are exceptionally attentive and the service is excellent. The hotel is newly decorated/furnished to a very high standard and the bedrooms are extremely confortable. Breakfast is cooked to order and served at your table; and the food is very very nice! There is a small walled pool and outside sitting area which is very pleasent and sunny in the mornings/early afternoons. The hotel also has a few parking spaces, but these are limited and need to be booked prior to arrival. I would highly recommend this hotel if you are looking for quality, comfort and quiet.

quirky decor and friendly, obliging staff. Advertised as a spa hotel. There were no steam rooms, jacuzzi etc only 2 treatment rooms. When i asked to book a massage i was told the therapist was not working? Advertised as having a restaruant. They do have a breakfast/bar area which can be used as a restarant but we were told you need to pre order your food the day before if you wish to eat in the evening- not ideal if you come back after long day and can't be bothered to go back out again. We booked a luxury room which did not include a sofa bed/sleeper couch as stated (there would not have been room), Asked for use of the complementary playstation that comes as standard and was told that there were none available which considering i had a teenage boy travelling with me was a nuisance

The staff were always very civil and tried to do everything one could ask for. The accommodation was well above average and I truly enjoyed the stay. The breakfast was prepared with thought and was presented in an extremely professional way. However, the best part was in the eating. Internet connection was faultless and provided everything I needed. I would stay there again without hesitation. The only issue I would have is that there was no formal 'room service' menu and whether one could have an evening meal was open to debate i.e. one had to know whether one wished to dine in the evening at breakfast, which was not always possible. If this could be resolved, my stay would be faultless.

The staff was very attentive to all our needs, my friends and I felt pampered at all times which made us feel truly welcomed. Our special thanks to Oncemore, Nkosi and Wonder! We miss you already! Hotel design is exquisite so is the cuisine. Our rooms were spacious and beautifully decorated. Although situated on a busy road, the window was soundproof. Everything worked in the room. Would definitely come back! The cleaning was not that efficient. They changed the white bathroom mat only once in the 8 days we stayed there. I had to wash my coffee mug every time I had to use it. The rest was ok.

We stayed at three hotels during our week-long stay in Cape Town. We only stayed at Sugar hotel for our last night in the city. From the moment we entered the hotel, we knew that we made such a big mistake in not booking our whole holiday in this fantastic hotel. We never felt we are staying in a hotel, we felt we are staying at our own home, and being served by a group of wonderful, most friendly people. The design was so elegant and of exceptionally high taste. Simplicity has never looked better. The room was very comfortable and cosy beyond imagination. There are many positive things to be said about this hotel, but the two things that stand out are: the brilliant design, and the unbelievably friendly staff. Mr. Oncemore, Mr. Wonder and the rest of the team were really wonderful. The highlight of it all was us being driven to the airport in a luxurious 4x4 Audi, driven by...the hotel owner himself! A truly remarkable stay. It was the hotel with the lesser price but the most outstanding quality and value. This is the only hotel I am staying in whenever I next visit Cape Town.

Staff were very friendly. Breakfast was excellent. Room 4 did not cool very well. A/C needed to be defrosted and had to be shut off. Massive curtains blocked opening the door/window letting fresh air in. Room colors were too dark and room was not very cozy to me. Staff changed my room right away to Room 2 which was a smaller room. A/C worked fine. Room was too dark and again had those massive curtains. Even though I opened the door to the outside splash pool, the fresh air did not circulate into the room. Advertised as a 10 minute walk to the Wharf was really inaccurate. I was disappointed that the hotel was not within safe walking distance. I took taxis to and from the hotel.

“The location was the best of the excellent facilities at this hotel. You have the Twelve Apostles at the back and a stunning view of the ocean from the front. We were upgraded for our three night stay to the Presidential Suite which was a really beautiful set of rooms but before we checked out I asked to see one of the Royal Suites we had originally booked and this also was of a very high standard. The breakfast was first class with all fresh fruit and cereal plus eggs and bacon etc cooked on request by the friendly staff. We had one issue in the room regarding a tap which was dealt with swiftly and satisfactorily. The hotel is located just outside of the main Camps Bay resort which makes it nice and peaceful yet literally 3 to 4 mins down the road in your car.” David, Kingston Upon Hull |
