This newly built Radisson Blu Hotel occupies a prime location in the heart of Sandton's business district. Its impressive atrium sets the tone for a memorable experience.
Score from 103 reviews Excellent
Excellent breakfast. Excellent Taxi Service with very polite Staff.
Same soup of the day all the time.
Breakfast was good and complimentary transport to sandton city.
Bigger pillows and more helpfull transport staff. The only helpful person in sunnyside was nomsa ( transport officer ) she kept to time and would rearrange her schedule yo fit me in. One day we were dropped at sandton ... told the driver to pick us at 21:00 hrs ... an hour later we were still standing there in the cold. No one communicated to us that we needed to move to the legacy hotel.
I very much like the atmosphere at Sunnyside. It's relaxed. The dining room is lovely and so is the lounge and I love the open fires. The canned music is good - nice oldfashioned tunes and not too loud and thumping. Beautiful gardens.
I can't think of anything.
My previous knowledge and experience helped me find my way.
The reception was cold. They prefered to serve the American team and yet we were all paying clients! There is serious need to retrain the staff on basic customer service. The dinning rooms became no go areas for me as a result, breakfast was a nightmare. They think they are doing you a favor. Its worse if you are black and from zimbababwe like me!
Nice place, liked the swimming pool area, gardens, pub, suites
Doors at the pub for some cupboards are broken. Not appealing to the eyes for a star hotel. Much as we appreciate that its a national monument. Things should not be replaced with new ones but something must be done at that bar. Sinks in the toilets do not look very good as well at the bar.
I love the environment and the staff were warm. I look forward to another opportunity to be there! I had good value for my money. I recall with nostalgia, 'Neebo' and 'Lydia' (I hope I got their names right) who always looked out to get me honey for my tea in the restaurant. I cannot forget as well Mousa and Bheki at the Front Desk (Reception)! Nice guys!
Hotel room in disrepair Food average
no simple facilities to charge things like mobile phones, which can be crucial in business travels
Lovely setting, safe and secure area; staff is welcoming and efficient. They have done some refurbishing in hallways and rooms, which was needed (I have stayed here many times).
Some rooms still need a bit of refreshing.
This is a historic property located in a big city. However it has beautiful garden ,which creates a relaxing and tranquil environment.
smiling helpful staff
I am 85 and my legs are not good. Stairs presented some difficulty
Gardens, peaceful atmosphere but in the city, very good security
There is a lot of renovation work going on at this hotel, so if you don't want the sound of jack hammers droning in your eardrums constantly during the day, I would give it a wide berth. If I had known about the work in advance. I wouldnt have stayed there.
Spacious rooms; excellent breakfast; loads of room; nice pub dinner. friendly staff.
Hallway carpet needed a good vacuum; Had to wait ages for bellboy to help with the luggage. Car was covered in bird poop!
The safe to keep valuables
Room could have had a fridge rather than waiting to go to the bar all the time Travel costs for transport to n from airport bit on the steepside compared to other countries Expensive meals
Nice peaceful place.
Wake up call 1/2 late.
i loved the setup of the restaurant and the breakfast.
I had to be moved to a different room because of a lack of hot water. Only the third room had hot water and better facilities than the other two that I was originally booked in. The second night of my stay there was however no hot water or even hot water in the bath tub taps. There was however hot water in the shower and basin. the maintenance of the hotel basically is not of a good standard. The food available on the Saturday 05 October at the pub was also not nice. There was only burgers available and it was tasteless and cold.
Very convenient location for the purpose of booking at the Hotel. We went up for the rugby and the Hotel is near Ellis Park
Firstly, we were booked in a room with an undated T.V. which did not work. The worst part was - there was no hot water. We wanted to check out and was then trf to another room in the adjacent building. The old building carpets could be upgraded in the rooms and the T.V.'s can be replaced as this was out of the ark. Even staff said that the section we were booked in was called the 'Museum'. Now that is something to think about ! We will rather make a booked at another Hotel next time. The last time we were there was end July this year, had problems there but did not complain, as the Hotel tried to rectify.
Beautiful gardens, good breakfast.
trickle hot water took ages for bath, tried shower and ended up with all towels soaked and slippery floor!
Breakfast is ok but the other food options are terrible. We have stayed here a number of times as it is close to our family but the rooms differ significantly depending on what you get. It all just seems to lack something!
Welcome. Very nice room in new section
The fact of not be given the room I have selected when I did the booking. My web booking was ignored.
This is an attractive, old building. The staff are very helpful and friendly.
The toilet in our first room was broken. After 3 attempts to mend it we moved to another room where the toilet flush was again inadequate.
Flexible ito dinner. Could have half the buffet.
Smoking room too small and stuffy
Absolutely loved this hotel, takes one back to an era where service and friendliness were the norm and not like lodges of today where you basically help yourself doing everything.
