The view , relaxation
Everything is nice there
Appears waiters not trained; why bring toast and forget about butter until asked.
The location: although 6 km off N2, very close to most Tsitsikama activities/attractions. Tranquility and peace. Views and nature.
Can improve heating for winter months. No wifi in lodge although wifi possible (is mentioned in web site but is a 5 minute walk to reception). No "do not disturb" signs for the doors, had to ask repeatedly cleaning personnel to "come back later". In general, the place has great potential to be a cozy paradise but seems not all possibilities exploited (maybe due to low season during our visit and may be better managed in high season).
Beautiful facilities Great views Close to all Tsitsikama activities
I only stayed 1 night
A truly delightful experience - splendid location, fantastic service and staff, romantic ambiance, privacy and rustic spacious accommodation - the well-prepared hamper for our barbeque/braai was indeed impressive - a MUST return establishment!
The only downside was the road to the lodge and poor unclear directions, but once there one tends to forget about it!
Loved the location and the bedroom was very well appointed.
The bathrooms are a bit tired. The mangement were aloof - they didn't interact with us at all or even say goodbye and see us out to our car.
Natural enviroment, good food, nice restuarant setup and awsome views, Roominess of Room!
Food to expensive and need a new packet of buiscuits every morning.
It was a clean, comfortable chalet. I'm sure the staff have their hearts in the right place, however we did have a couple of small issues.
It is about a 6km drive on an unmade road to get to the chalets so you're quite isolated and although not essential, a 4x4 would be advisable. After a long day getting there, there was no complimentary tea or coffee left that first evening but it was only on the second evening we realised they had forgotten to restock them. We were also told half an hour before the restaurant opened that they were already fully booked - not normally a problem if it wasn't so isolated. We had the option of eating in our chalet which was fine but the menu choice for this is extremely limited as they bicycle the food to you. There wasn't really any choice of food for children - what was on offer was more 'sophisticated', so our youngest couldn't really find anything suitable. The views out of our chalet was close ups of trees and bushes as they had grown so high; we had a sneaky peek outside a couple of the other chalets and the views they had were breathtaking - so if you get one of these I'm sure you'll be very happy. Overall I think this place is much more suitable for couples or groups of adults on holiday together.
Fabulous facilities, staff, and location
Distance on dirt road to location but we'll worth the drive Note that 1st question does not apply. Traveling father & son
A real get away and luxury remote place to relax, in a stunning natural location beside a waterfall and overlooking the ocean. excellent creative cuisine.
It was a beautiful place to stay, fantastic views. Staff very nice and helpful. Really enjoyed being there
Very little choice of food on offer for evening meal
Beautiful view and excelent facilities. Very nice and helpful staff. They asked about and were able to adapt their dinner choices to accomodate dietary restrictions.
Breakfasts could have a few more options for people with dietary restrictions. Having to order dinner in advance was a bit of chalenge, specially when they could not remember what you order.
The location was spectacular. The view from the living room and deck was breathtaking. We enjoyed how remote the location was. The food (dinner & breakfast) was delicious. We could not get enough of the homemade ice cream. We would definitely return and recommend this accommodation. Our only regret is not staying longer.
No wifi in the house
Beautiful chalets. Extremely clean. Setting spectacular. Staff warm and welcoming. Food delicious. Was so relaxing.
Very small suggestions. ..cover the top of the chalets windows and a bit more storage for clothes.
Great beautiful place to stay with friend or in a couple. Only wish our stay was for a bit longer. Staff really friendly and helpful would most deffo recommend. Worth the money you pay for sure.
The view of the valley was breathtaking. The rough drive out gave my tyre a puncture, and the friendly staff helped fix it.
Food was average. Chef loved reduced balsamic as it was poured on everything and ruined the taste.
The remoteness of the hotel, staff were extremely flexible and couldn't do enough for you. Great value for money.
Wifi only available in main reception which wasn't near the accommodation and didn't actually work on last day.
Fantastic location and hotel. Unbelievable view. I wish we had more time there.
location, room finish and presentation
impossible and inflexible kitchen staff seriously negated all the facillities good points
The Fernery is a bit out of the way but this means it is in a quiet location. We were there in February and so there wasn't enough water coming down to generate the waterfall that this hotel seems to be famous for. The chalets were comfortable and well equipped and we loved being able to have dinner served in our chalet even though the choice was a bit limited.
It looks better in its marketing photos than it really is. You can only get wifi in the reception area and that's a long walk or drive away. It would be nice to be able to get wifi in the lodge itself.
Loved the pampering of staff and services. Jacuzzi is awesome and views and surroundings spectcular. Beautiful bathrooms. Bicycles for hire.
Spiders in rooms - netting on windows?Self catering but not microwave or kitchen area. Rely heavily on the resort for cutlery and assistance.
The nice spacious chalet surrounded by nature was very relaxing. We liked the atmosphere and the good cuisine , both dinners and breakfasts.
Splendid location, great chalet
Wifi only at entrance of resort available, and not working
Amazing experience here.
