Good location but quiet Didn't live up to the description on your web site. We don't mind quaint but it's needing an upgrade. A little bit too 'shabby chic'. Disappointing, basic, no little extras unlike other places we stayed on our trip. Relying on it's history

The location and its history. The owners who were most helpful in meeting my needs when they were in mid-festival mode. The disorganisation at breakfast and exceptionally slow service of it. It took from 0810 (kitchen alegedly open from 0800) until 0920 to get served. Promise after promise failed. I wanted to get away before 0900 but couldn'T.

It is situated in a convenient location. We were able to attend a nmber of activities in the Grahamstown National Arts Festival and able to go the beach in Port Alfred. There are a number of coffee shops and other entertainment places around and the environment is quiet and friendly. Both the management and staff are friendly. There is no tv in the rooms. The toilets and the bathrooms are outside and that is inconvenient. That means you have to go out of your room whenever you need the toilet even in the middle of the night.

My husband and I both enjoy history. Bathurst and the Pig and Whistle Inn were a good trip for us. Our room was spacious and was comfortable (Although there was no tv in the room we could watch rugby in the pub). We also enjoyed the quiet little town, Bathurst with its history with the 1820 British Settlers, old churches and buildings. Shower/Bath with shower curtain needs some attention.

Both the hotel and the location were unique. Bathurst itself was an interesting, quaint little village - rather quiet.but interesting. The area had many art studios and galleries. The hotel itself was old, but well cared for. It was very clean. Our room was spacious, very light and had more than adequate storage and closet space so we could unpack and enjoy the room. The food was good, the pub enjoyable and the staff were very friendly and service oriented. Good place for a relaxing get away few days. We will definatly go back.
