Good Location, friendly staff, very nice rooms, amazing bed, beautiful veranda, rental bikes (free first day), ok wifi..
The position , easy to walk into Kalk bay and enjoy all it has to offer. Friendly staff to come and go as you feel like. Clean and pleasant deco.
that we were not informed that breakfast was extra not included. Also wifi not included.
Best value for money during our 3 week stay in south Africa. great welcome and tips.
small backroom bedroom not nice at all
Wifi costs extra Breakfast available only at sister hotel.
Bathrooms are private, yet they are in a seperate room for which you need to cross the public hallway.. Our lock broke down (true, this bad luck) and we lost 2 hours before we could enter our room again (we came from our bathroom). This was our only night in kalk bay and we missed sunset.. What bothers me is that we got no compensation from the motel..
I liked the large balcony and the wonderful sea views, the close proximity to the sea and the main street shops without the noice of the main road. Lovely relaxing. Great coffee!!!
The room witch was really the same as the photos had a nice decoration and confort. The house, old but kind, we felt like home. Very easy to go to restaurant by foot, safe. And our guest who is so nice, simple and welcoming. Breakfast was good and great !
Due to the kind of old house, a little noisy. The photo on the site let think a bigger entrance and terrace
close /walking distance to seafront and shops (sentrally situated). no need to get into car and drive to shops. nice view over the bay (room with a sea view). loved the balcony with chairs and just relax while enjoying the sea breeze.
parking in street.
Staff helpful and friendly. Great location for strolling to Kalk Bay. Beautiful floor boards, ceilings. Big comfy bed. Size of room great.
Had to ask for a double adapter to use the hairdryer. Could hear every move guests above us made. No TV in rooms. Very nice big rooms, but ours didn't really have a view - couldn't keep curtains opne because the entrance was right outside our widnow and people could look into our room. Expected more for the price. Compared to Bo La Motte in Franschhoek which is exactly the same price afraid it was lalcking in luxures and those little extras (eg. at Bo La Motte - rusks, hand cream, foam bath - bath and shower in bathroom, furniture in mint condition, TV with Dstv in all units etc. Would have been happy to pay R500 per night instead of R650 per night.
Very friendly and delightful young lady taking care of us and making sure everything works
I love the old wood in all the furnishings. I love the narrow cobbled roads of Kalk Bay and the way this property has been maintained/restored is true to the feel of the harbour village. My room was clean and comfy (beautiful curtains and blind). The sound of the sea at night is lovely even though I didn't have a sea view. I didn't try the bottle of wine or the bottled water but it is a nice touch. The manager, Michelle was kind, friendly and helpful.
Parking was a bit awkward. I had to park some distance away and, although there was a security guard there overnight I would've preferred to leave my car on more secure premises. The steep , narrow roads are not for the faint-hearted driver/walker either.
Perfectly located - beautifully furnished!
Location and price
No ashtrays on the veranda
The view was wonderful The hot water bottle The big bed The feather duvet
Lack of TV Channels- not being able to watch rugby
Didnt have toilet paper in room had to ask.
Good location Spacious room Clean & tidy.
Ground floor rooms very noisy due to wooden floors. People above us woke us up every time they walked around in their room. Did not find the classic music played very loud by staff member on Sunday afternoon appropriate.
We felt welcomed and at home.
loved the bed, the view, the house, the people, the blankets on the verandah, the location...
not being able to shower
Location, location, location!
There is a veranda which runs the whole length of the outside at The Inn at Castle Hill, which makes it look very colonial. There are around 10 rooms and ours opened out onto the veranda where we got views of the harbour and Simonstown as well as the hills on the other side of False Bay. We had an en suite shower room and tea and coffee making facilities. The hotel was well situated as it was a short walk down the hill to the main road of Kalk Bay where all the shops and restaurants were. A nice place to stay with pleasant and friendly staff.
Limited car parking, no breakfast facilities, no food preparation facilities.
Wonderful views. Easily accessible from CT
Bathroom basin had a problem with drainage. No bar fridge in room. Broken door fixture. Very pricey breakfast and not available at the inn itself. No telephone in rooms.
beautiful old style house with beautiful ancient furniture. Stunning view on Kalk Bay Harbour, very friendly and efficient service.
