My husband and I thouroughly enjoyed our stay at the Kelway. It is an old hotel but very clean and comfortable and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful.we had to unfortunately cut our stay short as we had a death in the family and were pleasantly surpised and pleased to receive a credit for the days we had not spent there. If you are looking for clean comfortable accommodation at a reasonable cost and a "homely" atmosphere, without wanting the luxuries of a spa, golf course etc. then the Kelway is the hotel to go to. I would gladly recommend the Kelway to as many people as I can. Bev Darling

I specifically asked for twin beds but got a double bed to share with my daughter. We carried our own luggage ( no porter?) and the person in reception did not mention the lift while she watched us pull it 2 storeys up. I will remember this for a while.

Location great, breakfast very good if a bit slow if you order a special. Tv did not work with satelite decoder despite several attempts to correct it. Maids knock then immediatly enters your room without bothering to wait for a reply. Breakfast staff slow and waitresses prefer to chat to each other rather than assist with prompt service.

We choose the Kelway over the other hotels available on Booking.com for our stop-over in PE. We had no expectations, but in our opinion we could not have made a better choice. It offers great views of the harbour and seaside and it is not too close to the activity on the beach.

This hotel was advertised as a 4-star hotel, but to be quite honest it was more like a 3-star hotel. In the bar area, there were cobwebs and dirt by the coffee table where underneath cups, etc were stored. We booked a double room with a sea view but the room given to us was very cramped and our view was blocked by the hotel's green roof. Would recommend this only if special deal offered R600.00/night. Not worth the price given on the hotel's website.

The location was good as it was fairly close to the stadium where the irb Sevens Tournament was held. 1. On arrival (08/12/11) the tv and the safe were not working. This was sorted out but wasted a great deal of our time. We needed to use the safe and the wait to have it repaired resulted in us missing an appoinment. 2. Simple comforts that one expects in a room like a hairdryer, shower cap, soap and shampoo were not available. They were however supplied on request. 3. On our first morning the was no hot water in the room. I did not enjoy the cold shower! 4. Housekeeping persistently neglected to replenish supplies. Supplied on request. 5. The linen was not refreshed for the duration of our stay. 6. The room was small with a pokey bathroom. My wife and I travel extensively both locally and abroad and the Kelway is without doubt the worst 4 star hotel we have experienced. You may provide my details when feeding back to the Kelway Hotel.

Location and price Very noisy wedding reception right under our room, and in addition, vendors came to collect their equipment before 07h00 on Sat morning and were shouting and making a huge amount of noise, which woke up my husband and myself.

I hesitated to use the hotel based on previous experience some years ago. It has had a history of inconsistency, especially the restaurant. However it was a pleasant surprise and overall a very satisfactory experience. As such at the room rate it represented very good value. The hot breakfast was a little cold.and didn't match the freshly cooked egg. The light on the airconditioning blinked throughout and was a little irritating in a dark room. I could not turn it off with the remote

Very good value for money Reception-staff should be more "professional", should not be some-one who sees her/his duties as just another admin function. Should endeavor to make guests feel welcome.

Service was good as usual as I have stayed at this hotel before. Quality of the food was good and the staff were very attentive. Nice location as it is close to the airport and that local hotel feel against the Garden Court across the road. The hotel is obviously having some structural work done, which had no effect on my stay, but I would say that the bedrooms are starting to need some attention, especially the bathrooms - attention to detail as well - but still very clean and everything worked, so no actual problems.
