The Old Hatchery Bed & Breakfast

The Old Hatchery is a fantastic & romantic place to stay over. We slept like angels in our kingsize bed and relaxed in our very big bath. The food is very great and tasteful and the atmosphere of the bar near the fireplace is so amusing! We've been there in the fall and the hostess even made roasted chestnuts for us on request. Mmmmhhhh... The view is quite idyllic and the sunset is like the aurora borealis but then by daylight. Very weird, but a must see! It's a good place to discover the Sani-pass. Thanks! Ingrid & Sven

Comfortable room, warm welcome, good food!

The room was spacious and a large bathroom. It was located in a quiet area. The food in the restaurant was good.

The entire Hotel would benefit from a good tidy up. The bedroom furniture was shabby lights on the stairs didn't work. Restaurant service was poor.

The food was excellent and the accommodation was very comfortable. It was good value for money. I can gladly recommend The Old Hatchery.

They advertise trout fishing as one of the attractions, however I suggest they stock the dam adequately.

The location is beautiful - very peaceful and the lake outside the front of the restaurant at the B&B made a very tranquil spot to sit in the evening sunshine. It was great that, although a 10min + drive from Underberg, the B&B has its own restaurant so there's no need to head back out if you don't want to. The food at the restaurant was really good, and generally the B&B was excellent value for money.

The bedroom was pretty basic - it probably matched the price but we're used to staying in slightly smarter places - there was no tv in the room and the walls were pretty thin, but that said the room and bathroom were spacious, it was very clean, and there were large communal areas available. Probably a good place for a small group to stay.

Het gebouw waarin we sliepen was het ijzig koud (met kleine radiator was kamer wel warm te krijgen).

Heel vriendelijke mensen. Goed verzorgde accommodatie in een ongelooflijk mooi landschap

Wir hatten ein sehr schönes, geräumiges Zimmer mit einem modernen und größzügigen Bad. Es gab ein großes, sehr gutes Bett. Im Restaurant wurde schmackhaft gekocht und der Service war ausgezeichnet. Wir konnten unseren Aufenthalt genießen. Uneingeschränkte Empfehlung.

Wir hatten ein großes Zimmer im Gästehaus. Küche zur Gemeinschaftsbenutzung mit Kühlschränken vorhanden. Es gibt eine schöne große überdachte Außenterasse. Das Restaurant liegt gleich daneben, wo es Frühstück gibt und man auch zu Abend essen kann.

Es war schwer zu finden.

wunderschöne Anlage, große geräumige Zimmer, riesige Badezimmer, sehr gutes dazugehöriges Lokal , nette Gastgeber, die sehr gute Ratschläge für die weitere Routenplanung gegeben haben, gutes Frühstück, absolut ruhige Lage.

the breakfast table could be better

Lille hyggeligt sted, hvor du kommer tæt på ejer og personale. Restauration med god mad til absolut rimelige priser. Prøv deres lamme curry - mum...! Smukt beliggende I landlig idyl, med et lille vandfald ved siden af restaurationen.

De har elendigt wifi - men det virker da indimellem, omend ikke til alle sider.

Het eten was prima Op de vraag kunnen we morgenavond forel eten ( 8 personen) werd prima op gereageerd en de maaltijd was fantastisch

helaas geen zwembad aanwezig het was er bij aankomst 31 graden

La chambre était très spacieuse avec un lit xxl et une salle de bain xxl. Les chambres sont dans un batiment à 100 mètres du restaurant. Parfaitement situé pour le sani pass ou des randos dans le Drakensberg. Le restaurant est très bien et d'un bon rapport qualité prix. Nous conseillons sans aucun doute
