Very basic in terms of service, breakfast, facilities, rooms

We were disgusted with the smelly and stuffy SMALL room provided for us on arrival. Paying top dollar for something like that are ridiculous. We have booked 7 months in advance and could not get a upgrade on our room.Staff friendliness at reception for asking for a better room was ab-runt. Was told that hotel rooms were all the same sizes....please why lie... No discount for parking....for staying at hotel.

The Location of the Hotel was perfect.. Close to Waterfront and stadium.. Clean and neat..

The bathrooms need upgrading. We were shocked to see the price of your wines. The same bottle in other five star Hotels was on average R160.00 R75,00 in bottle stores and in Portswood same bottle was R320.00 unacceptable...

Easy access to v&a waterfront

No decent shower

We liked the friendliness of the staff. We stayed the first two days and the last two days of our trip to South Africa and we were upgraded to a suite which was very much appreciated...we had stayed in the hotel five years ago and it was exactly as I remembered it and we will definitely be staying there on our return visit////breakfasts were also super...it should be noted that we travelled with another couple ...mc gettigans...and this review is for all of us

Nothing....maybe that the bar closed too early?

Excellent staff. Good choice of food for breakfast. Excellent bed.

Poor tv reception etc. Did not like Malay type cuisine Dining room needs redecorating. Tables were not replenished quickly enough for new diners. Noisy fridge and ac in room.

There is never enough coffee sugar tea and milk in the rooms.. Also the bathroom needs an upgrade, with a shower

Staff at breakfast - not very effecient and also hinting for tip One room was very noisy - right next to lift as well as noise from people and traffice coming from front of hotel (Room 302/3?) Aircon out of order and could not be fixed, had to be moved to another room on 4th floor which stank of cigarettes.

One of the best locations in Cape Town. Most of the staff is very good in courtesy and friendliness.

Cleanness of the room may have room to be improved.

Absolutely overpriced for the type rooms and of accommodation. Closer to a 3 star rather than a 4 star Rooms must be updated to be a 4 star hotel You cannot charge 4 star rates just because of location.

Nothin except it's proximity to waterfront

Expensive. Lots of things didn't work in the room like remote, power socket, toilet flush, bath tub drainage system. Bad smell in the room. Www were also overcharged for parking. Breakfast terribly limited

The dinner was excellent. Extremely friendly staff and smiling faces. Free internet is a plus, which is sometimes not common in South Africa.

I felt very welcome and it was home from home and I was well cared for all the time. Special thanks to your main man on the door and all the staff who car fetched my car, Desmond was one of them. The dinner menu needs a bit more variety.

The staff apologised and did what they could. When they finally offered me a different hotel, I was already on the way out. I'd booked one myself.

It is old and scruffy. It tries hard and does not quite make it. Coffee is from a bag of liquid concentrate, but you can pay extra for filter coffee. It's a noisy place with thundering aircon units. Internet is hit and usually miss. Fridge was caked with ice. I walked out after 3 nights. Ghastly!
