Cheerful and helpful staff
only issue, the normal sout Africa latency with internet
Location is fantastic as you have walking access to the whole V&A waterfront in minutes
Very noisy A/C unit in the room we had. Couldn't sleep with it on.
NEW RENOVATION WAS WELL DONE
AIRCONDITIONER WAS TOO NOISY CANT WATCH TV OR SLEEP WITH AIRCON ON.
The location and most of the staff
Slow service, overly expensive
Some staff could be more helpful
The check in staff was exceptionally unfriendly except for the lady when we check out They are most definitely giving the Hotel a very bad first impression
The location is great , just a minute from the v&a waterfront and citysightseeing and myciti bus stops. Very clean , helpful friendly staff and nice modern rooms
The only bad thing I can say is that wifi is slightly limited to 600mb a day and is a little slow. A very minor quibble and I think is common in SA
Location Sister Coomodore hotel next door much better
Staff not friendly Not good value Poor service
I could just accommodate the staff who do turndown in the evening cause they can be very disturbing. It was Saturday27th when I had this very hard knock and I responded by asking her/him to come in there was no response I had to go to the door to see who was there. One of the ladies was standing outside and she said she did not come in because she was still talking to her supervisor and why did she knock if she was not ready to come in?When she was done then she knocked and came in and did what she wanted to do and left.Another knock as hard as the previous one this time it was the supervisor not the one she was talking to another one.I did raise my complaint to her. They saw it very unusual that I was on my own if that had anything to do with them.If only they could learn to mind their own businesses life would be much easier for your customers.
recently redecorated rooms, not big but with every comfort one needs. Very friendly and helpful staff.
The location so close to the active Waterfront and still very peaceful. Recently renovated, the hotel is impecable. The breakfast excellent. The stadff is helpful and pleasant We recommend it
Beautiful bathroom, spacious but poor lighting.Try to shave with a single light 2m behind your back .The designer has probably a long beard and never shaves. The remark stands for the rest of the suite otherwise fine.
I liked the fact you could walk safely into the Waterfront. I enjoyed sitting in the bar both for coffee and a drink. I enjoyed the breakfast.
We were there for only one night and so can't really comment, for our needs it was perfect.
Short walking distance to the lively Waterfront facilities, but quiet at the hotel made our stay memorable for all the right reasons.
Excellent location for access to Waterfront - excellent breakfast rooms clean & functional
We felt some staff required further training - and a few more smiles would have been good!!!
Newly refurbished room Bed comfort Work area & lighting Hotel restaurant Location to Waterfront
Noisy room (air con & location of pool) Small room - 2 people w/luggage = full "free wifi" expires after 850MG!! Room doors *SLAM* shut ## ## = International door slamming championships between rooms/floors - no matter how you close the door - it really slams shut - with early departures each morning you dont need an alarm clock!!!
Location. The very good non restaurant staff who were almost always warm and friendly.
Restaurant staff very variable - some good, mostly disengaged and rarely proactive. Restaurant itself lacked any atmosphere. Small pool area - 10 sun beds.
location, location, location.
The staff made my trip - always helpful, always willing to go the extra mile...made me feel completely at home (and you can't pay for that level of empathy!)
Still thinking about this...can't think of anything
location, friendly staff, smaller than some but with all the added extra touches of a big brash place.
smoking on the patio, as it still seeps into the dining area, but i guess that happens everywhere.
The staff at The Portswood were all extremely professional. Nothing was too much trouble and they were friendly and polite at all times.
Staff very friendly and helpful
Wifi not working in entire building (in particular in restaurant it was not)
How friendly and helpful everybody was
The shower leaked onto the floor
The location is very close to waterfront and the parking area gives you direct access to the hotel which is very useful when it's dark. The staff was very kind and gave us the opportunity of a complementary night in another hotel, when we complained about the noise caused by the renovation works.
The hotel was under renovation at the time we were there, therefore we suffered some noise at morning starting from 8 am. The toilet was not well cleaned when we arrived in the room.
Staff friendly and attentive, location good
Rooms need serious refurbishment, they are tired
