How friendly and helpful everybody was
The shower leaked onto the floor
The location is very close to waterfront and the parking area gives you direct access to the hotel which is very useful when it's dark. The staff was very kind and gave us the opportunity of a complementary night in another hotel, when we complained about the noise caused by the renovation works.
The hotel was under renovation at the time we were there, therefore we suffered some noise at morning starting from 8 am. The toilet was not well cleaned when we arrived in the room.
Staff friendly and attentive, location good
Rooms need serious refurbishment, they are tired
Buffet breakfast Easy walking distance to V&A waterfront Let me check-in early Quiet rooms Free wi-fi
Excellent location! Very friendly staff. Comfortable rooms.
staff is really friendly
connection to WiFi access point did not work in my room and restaurant, only in the lobby; problem was not solved although I stayed 8 days; no spa/sports facilities in this hotel, only next door in the Commodore Hotel which can be used free of charge;
Breakfast was very good!
Safe was out of order upon check in and had not been attended to during our 2 night stay despite the fact that it was reported immediately to receptionist on duty.
very nice breakfast. the personnel very pleasant and wanted to help.
Maybe more free wifi would be better.
The staff was friendly and willing to help you. The location was within minutes to Waterfront. The breakfast was amazing...
The room decoration was antiquated. The room windows had no insulation so the noise was plenty from outside. The ventilation was no automated and antiquated too. The refrigerator made too much noise!!! The 300MB limitation for the WiFi is unacceptable for a 4* hotel.
Staff in all areas were excellent but particularly helpful at reception desk
Not always good WiFi in rooms
Lobby and breakfast room have been remodeled and are attractive
Rooms are worn and need a serious upgrade. Plugs and lights don't work properly. AC is Noisy. Not comfortable....
Close to the water and the harbor and had great shopping. Lots of restaurants.
Didn't stay long enough
Friendly staff, good food and great location.
Noisy Lift doors working through out the night disturbing my sleep at times.
Shower in bath
- Location was very good - convenient for V&A waterfront and tours, like the hop on hop off bus, ferry trips and Robben Island tour. - Staff were very friendly. - Pool was smaller than expected, though you can actually use the pool at its neighbouring sister hotel, the Commodore. Seems like it doesn't make sense to stay at the Commodore (although I didn't see the rooms)...
- Generally old and a little battered around the edges. Felt like being in a European business hotel (like a holiday inn) that was built in the 80s. - Concierge wasn't entirely helpful; we gave very specific instructions re care hire two days in advance and in the end the concierge hadn't done anything until the morning of the rental. It wasted a good few hours of our time and left a bit of a bitter taste.
This is a great hotel a couple of minutes walk to the Waterfront. Staff are friendly and welcoming. Breakfast is fantastic a great selection.
Check out time was too early.
The location was excellent next to the waterfront and a short walk to the red bus terminal. This is built around a historic building so a very interesting place to stay. Proximity to the waterfront and all the wonderful restaurants was wonderful.
A friendly helpful staff made the stay enjoyable. The hotel has an excellent location close to the waterfront. The morning breakfasts were also a great start to the day.
The wifi was unstable and kept dropping out.
We were charged again when booked into the hotel. I had paid the full amount via Booking.com prior to our arrival! Paid r12 000 for 3 night stay. Took many phones calls to sort out refund.
-Superb location near V& A Waterfront! -Extremely friendly staff. Clean and attractive lobby with daily complimentary pastries and sherry. Nice touch:)
-Internet was down for DAYS! -Concierge struggled with basic tasks like calling tour companies -Outdated bathrooms -Small bar that closes at 11 PM
Very old run down bathrooms Airconditioning very old and noisy Rooms are not quiet, particularly if you have to open the windows for cool air. Expensive for what you get
convenience for the V & A, friendly staff great food
