With panoramic views of Table Bay and Table Mountain, The Commodore is decorated in a nautical theme. It features an outdoor swimming pool and sauna, fitness and massage facilities.
Score from 156 reviews Very good
Right on the V&A Waterfront, this 4-star hotel offers a walk-in wine cellar and a terrace with a bar. Rooms include LCD TVs and overlook the Alfred Basin or Table Mountain.

This elegant 4-star hotel is just just over 1 mile from the V&A Waterfront and the Two Oceans Aquarium. It has an outdoor pool, massage services and panoramic views of Table Mountain.
Score from 175 reviews Very good
Asked for room with a bath but never got
Breakfast is very limited. But NOT really a problem as the breakfast is also complimentary (depending on the deal) at the Commodore Hotel next door and that is pretty good.
Staff!! Cleanliness, the food, the beverages and service at the bar. The room is comfortable and is cleaned twice daily. The bed is excellent. Covered car parking is available.
Problem with Air Conditioning unit so room was mostly very hot.
the "pool" was very disappointing . not really for swimming in. Very little outside space , just a cramped enclosed terrace.
great location, free wifi in business centre,
Hotel facilities seem a bit average.
The hotel location is its selling point - literally a short walk to the V&A waterfront perfect for late night activity's at the waterfront and then easy return to hotel.
Staff generally quite slow for service. Not well aware of needs/wishes of international travellers (for breakfast, bar, travel, anything) Aircon in bedroom too loud and of poor quality. A lot of noice from smashing room doors Need to do something about the birds that come and eat from the breakfast tables outside and that drink from the pool water - not very hygienic- reason why almost nobody uses the pool. Do not understand why hotel bar that is officially open till 2 am is presented as if it were closed as of 11 /11.30pm (bottles already stored away, bar staff waiting/loving to go home).
Terrible customer service all round
The room was extremely basic, small bed and costs too much for what you get. Moved out after night.
The location is excellent
The staff and ambiance
Rooms quite small for the price, no balconies and small courtyard with swimming pool
Great position just a short walk from v&a . Good breakfast
We only stayed for one night, but the hotel was very handily located with the V&A waterfront just 3 minutes walk away. A god, clean and friendly hotel with a good breakfast - what more could you need!
At peak hours, the wifi signal was a little erratic. It wasn't awful, but noticeable and probably par for the course in the hotels in that area.
The Staff was courteous, helpful & friendly. Lots of great things about this Hotel, but the staff alone would be the reason I will return.
The air conditioning in the bedroom was poor
The staff were attentive
vat is added onto your bill at the end! the free wifi is limited per day
Friendly helpful staff, good breakfast, clean, large room, nice courtyard for lounging in the sun by the pool, use of conningbrook's facilities
Staff, spacious room with comfortable bed and lovely bathroom, breakfast
Size of standard rooms, we upgraded in the end.
Very convenient for the Waterfront.
If I was one for sitting around the pool, which I'm not, the pool area would be a bit dissapointing. Having to pay for parking on top of accommodation bill.
Very close to the waterfront (literaly 5 minutes walk) yet far enough away to avoid the noise at night. Very friendly and attentive staff. Clean and comfortable accommodation.
I cannot distinguish anything. We were happy with every aspect of our visit.
No Hairdryer, wifi very poor
Generel all good
We had a problem with the room card not working on both our stays
The exterior of the hotel could be improved.
Great location, one minute walk from the V&A Waterfront. No need for a car. Staff very helpful and attentive, excellent breakfast and snack meals. Nice little pool area with loungers for a relaxing swim at the end of the day. Newly refurbished bedrooms with great beds and good bathroom. Bedrooms have safes to store valuables. Turndown service every evening with complimentary chocolates and mineral water. Good value for money in an expensive city.
The air con was extremely noisy.
The ability to use the facilities of the sister hotel next store.
our room had the remains of a smoker and the smell was not great.
breakfast excellent covenient being so close to waterfront staff helpfull room comfortable bed too
Delicious breakfast, friendly staff, amazing location. Couldn't ask for more.
The rooms are small and the cupboard space minimal. There was no chest of drawers. One must either be a minimalist or be prepared to live out of your suitcase, especially if sharing the room!
No children!! Therefore, a pleasant, peaceful atmosphere! In smallish spaces, eg around the pool, sound and noise carry, even up to the rooms, so the fact that there were no children was a blessing.
