We loved this hotel. It was wonderfully located and beautifully decorated. Spacious, Comfortable, practical & lovely. We were very pleased with it in every way. Free parking, well located, safe. The hotel staff were helpful & friendly, and we even received a rose &box of chocolates for valentines. A lovely touch. Breakfast at the plaza downstairs was delightful, as were the lovely shops. The waterfront was merely 2 blocks away, and a convenient laundry mat, was helpfully pointed out by the hotel staff a block away. I would totally recommend this hotel and would love to stay there again. Also it was very logically priced.

due to the window onto the corridor and with no curtains or blinds on them it was impossible to darken the room which would keep me from staying there again.

Very modern and immaculate apartment with 2 bedrooms, each with modern en suite facilities well equipped kitchen and very comfortable lounge area. Located between the waterfront and the main shopping street - brilliant! We thought the gym facilities were very small and, as we arrived on a saturday lunchtime, closed five minutes after we checked in

The rooms are spacious, luminous and elegantly furnished. We loved the patio, the hotel breakfast room and the shops around the hotel. We would have liked to have some view of the sea or at least the waterfront (we were in room 105). The apartment had an empty fridge. It would have been nice to have at least a few bottles of mineral water and drinks in the fridge - and better coffee (we hate instant coffee - taste like poison). An iron and ironing board would have been good to have...

Well located centrally in Knysna. Close to all the convienences. Rooms large and confortable. Accommodating late arrival with 24hr reception Hallway lights are switched off late at night and shine into the room making it difficult to sleep early. I suggest some blinds.

I was really impressed with our spacious and well appointed apartment (we booked a large two bedroom). Turn down service and daily cleaning/towel change meant we had the flexibility, space and comfort of an apartment with the service expected of a hotel. By the standard of the room and the design I would rate this 5star. A lovely bakery downstairs and great restaurants on the doorstep at the waterfront in Knysna mean you don't miss out on having a restaurant available all day.

The room was enormous and beautifully equipped. The staff friendly and helpful. Fantastic position so close to the Waterfront. The bathroom was way too small, with no shelf under the mirror and no plug for the hairdryer near a mirror.

We booked a standard double but were upgraded to a luxury king suite which was absolutely amazing!!!! The room had a fantastic view of the city and the lagoon. It had a huge balcony and was generally very nicely designed. It was a short walk to the waterfront and a 5 minute drive to Thesan Island. We were also very pleasantly surprised that they provided turndown service. Top marks for this hotel and we'd definitely stay here again if we return to knysna!

Staff tried to be helpful but were limited in what they could do by the hotel design and concept. Hotel was clean and looked very good. Had a standard room which was part of an apartment - the smaller of the rooms of the apartment which could be rented separately from the rest of the apartment. No real amenities in the room - glasses for water, mini bar, tea/coffee making facitlities or separate bathroom as bath was part of the room. No shower and very little room for any suitcases. I think that they want to sell the timeshare apartments and are geared to do so, not have travellers stay there - we stayed for two nights. No restaurant or coffee shop in the hotel and the nearby coffee shop closed on a Sunday! Very modern design but totally impractical - designed by a man!

Very Spacious room. Large balcony facing waterfront. Too bad only 3 storey building so cant appreciate the view. Lcd tv is equipped with mini home sound system. It is entertaining if you bring along a dvd Housekeeping staff enter my room after seeing me driving away with my bags without checking out the room. I was out to breakfast. Lighting at reception need to improve where it looks dark even in the morning

Really enjoyed our stay at the Rex Hotel...had a gorgeous one bed apartment that was beautifully decorated and the bed was so comfy and fab open plan bathroom area. Stayed 3 nights, good location in town of Knysna walking distance to the Marina and centre of this very attractive town. Breakfast in the little cafe La Petite Pain on the premises was fab.great shops also to browse. Would stay at the Rex again.

Beautiful, modern, comfortable, well-appointed room/suite. Breakfast available nearby at excellent, friendly 'smart' cafe, with speciality breads. Popular with the locals. Our room had a lovely outlook. No proper space in the shower room for two sponge bags!!

The location of the hotel, facilities in the rooms, size, decor and ambiance of accommodation all excellent. Bathroom a little too minimal - there was nowhere to hang towels / flannels / soap etc while in the shower Bathrooms also lacked privacy Breakfast at adjacent cafe disappointing but other places easily found nearby
