The cleanliness and the kids enjoyed their time in the pool, the staff was so friendly. Thank u for you warm welcoming.
After two terrible nights the manager was kind enough to give us an extra night free in a much better and clean room.
After seeing a 52% discount on Booking.com, i thought the hotel was real value for money, only to be disappointed on arrival when I found that the hotel rate is even lower than the 52% discount advertised on Booking.com, the second night was even much cheaper than what I was forced to pay because of my online booking. I asked for a family room, I I got are room that was so run down and filfy I could not allow my kids to touch the carpet (Be warned Room 508 is a no go).
This Hotel is still stuck in the 70's...really need an upgrade. The Bath / Shower combination really needs an improvement. Water all over bathroom after shower!
Comfy beds and pillows All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast & dinners served were value for money.
Shower head was very poor, the kettle took forever to boil. Our bedroom windows didn't stay open. There was no general info in the rooms, menus, reception numbers, check in/out times. No bar fridge, bad tv reception.
The Smell and Hygiene
Excellent and friendly staff who helped us in a number of ways. Awesome views.
The windows looked like they need to be polished. Some of the breakfast pastries and veg were a bit dry.
The location, staff and cleanliness.
Two single beds instead of a double bed.
Great location, fairly good value for money, friendly staff
Breakfast was chaotic - understaffed
Location and room view
Aircon was not working in room and the hotel needs an upgrade!
Excellent welcome service Excellent and friendly staff, you feel like home. Excellent location: taxi, restaurant and shopping and forex.
Some residents are noisy which disturbed the rest of others. A hotel code to keep voices low should be installed in the rooms with fines to those who break the code. Electricity cut but it is not specific to Ritz as this was observed in many places of Cape Town.
The location only
Nothing really to talk about
It is very well situated and access to the beach road and restaurants of seapoint/green point is great!
It was very windy and the windows very not completely sealed, the noise at night was a bit annoying.
Location of the hotel
The Administration Service Infrastructure
Fair price and good location.
Parking fees which were not told during check in.
Hidden Costs Wifi missing ! No basic facilities like Water / Tea
I enjoyed my stay at The Ritz. Made it my home for a month.
The gov power cuts and the fallout of backup generator. The Woolworth Store just on Main Road had one. People at the Ritz were stuck in the lifts and there wAs no warning
Bathroom the hall ways were terrible couldn't get a booking at the restaurant because of group bookings from non guests. Worst part we were told, because of power load shedding, we would have to walk 20 flights of stairs because they had no generator.
Location - pool
The rooms did not have any isolation. It was very windy at the room. Hotel from the 70'ies needs renovation. Top restaurant is only worth the view - not the food :/
Friendly staff & Great location
Lack of parking / Expensive parking Airconditioning was not sufficient in the rooms - was super hot TV limited, small and too high
The hotel is situated in an amazing setting with magnificent views. Some staff are very competent, while others need serious training or replacing.
On arrival we found dirty towels in the room, although booked as a couple, one one sachet of coffee was placed in the room, the bed had no top sheet, the mattresses had no cover, causing them to part in the night leaving a huge gap to keep falling into. The housekeeping was is not controlled and had to submit complaints. The parking marked "Combi's Only is permanently full with cars, so parking a combi is difficult, then the lighting is so bad and no warning signs of "low roof" in the combi parking, caused damage to my roof. General Manager Comment" "OH i never saw that before" Staff dont read documents, payment had been made online for the booking, reception debited my credit card again, although reversed it is no 7 days later and the refund is still not reflecting in my account, General Managers Comment "its out of my hands"...............totally not happy with my stay.....Africa Sky group need to wake up
Nice location, great breakfast, lots of good restaurants in the neighbourhood. Good, solid bet for stay in beautiful Cape Town.
Having to pay extra for an internet connection.
The fact that I left
Upon returning to my room I found someone else had been given it. They had checked me out and moved me with my knowledge. The next morning (Sunday) I was woken up at 7am by the staff asking me if I still had the key to my previous room. I packed and left
Online, they have created the idea that this will be a fancy establishment. I heard other guests mention that they were leaving because it was not what they expected (the pictures on the web make this place look amazing). The establishment is just okay. It is outdated and needs some work (eg beds, bathrooms). I have no problem with this, however, this needs to be communicated whilst advertising and marketing the place. Suggesting that The Ritz is a fancy place (using creative photography) will only lead to guests being unhappy. Honest marketing is the way to go. The guests will then know what to expect when they arrive. Don't over promise and under deliver. Rather under promise and over deliver. I could have booked this establishment again as I was recently in Cape Town on business again, but didn'T. I found another establishment in the same price range that delivered exactly what was implied and promised.
Nice staff and helpful
