Nice staff and helpful
Old and tired Hotel, Rooms need a refurb and so does the Hotel
PROXIMITY TO TOWN
Very beautiful view but take a mask for the eyes in the morning if you want sleep....
very dated and not clean at all
value for money, friendly staff, location was very good
hotel upkeep is poor, a very old TV box type, no charging points near the bed, only one main light switch, near the door...so if you went to put that off, you need to find your way back in the darkness to you bed...
The door staff and cleaning staff were friendly and helpful. The room decor was nice. The rooms and bathroom was clean and neat. The location was great - walking distance to shops and beach, also quite close (drive) to the V&A Waterfront.
The reception staff were stiff and unfriendly. Although we booked 2 rooms on the same booking, 1 for us parents and the other for our teenage kids, we were given rooms on different floors. We have also never had to pay for parking in a hotel in which we were paying guests before and we travel a lot.
Had to pay extra for breakfast and overnight parking.
They Charge A High Fee for internet Service
Old tv with no good channels, one needs at least CNN, BBC or sky. there was none in the channel selection. i asked for them to join my bed n ut took forever. when they did it wasnt done well
Location was great Staff are very friendly
Parking was an extra charge The room smelt awful, Fortunately we only needed a place to sleep and hardly spent much time in the room. There isnt a shower cubicle, just a shower head in the bath tub. I would not stay here again
this hotel is so out dated i was there a number of years ago. i looked at the pictures on the site and what i saw was nothing like the pics. The toilet had hair in from the previous lady who stayed in the room. Had to pay R50 extra from parking a car overnight with no security. for the amount paid could of stayed in a 2* hotel in better state an this out date hotel shocking experence
The state of the room was shocking... very long overdue for a make-over. knew it wouldn't help to ask for other room because i have heard the same from another guest that stayed there a year ago.
Good breakfast, Friendly and flexible staff in terms of negotiations.
The television type (CRT), the channels and the double bed issue. Why will I need a double bed? A standard King size bed will be perfect, so I can role from one end of the bed to the other.
Great view from the rooms but all the windows are quite stained so the beauty of the view is reduced.
There was a power outage in cape town. The hotel didn't have a back up generator. Had no hot water to bath in. Had to then walk down 19 floors in complete darkness. The manager said she cant put candles because of a fire hazard but they didnt even use a lantern or torch or anything to help their guests find their way to reception. And after walking down all those flights of stairs, tired guests weren't even offered a glass of water. The hotel manager just said load shedding doesn't happen in cape town as its a first class city, therefore they have no back up generators. Clearly she's not from SA where load shedding throughout the country is common. If she had even listened to the news or radio that week, she would have heard the constant warnings of load shedding in cape town. She did nothing to assist the guests in the situation. Not impressed with her as manager at all. You have to go to an ironing room to iron your clothes as they do not send irons to the room. Tea was not replaced when it was used. Shower head was either broken or not working well. Had to literally stand on the edge of the bathtub to be under the water from the showerhead.
The reception and the porter guy, like alfred the waiter from congo, he was just awesome.
The room need renovation, too old
The reception area was nicely put together. The welcoming concierge was super friendly. The views were superb.
The wait for the room was inordinately long. The room was really old and ramshackle. It smelt REALLY bad. No WIFI in the rooms. No fridge. No fresh milk for tea. 2 tea bags for 2 guests. Old towels. Old TV. No DSTV. Noisy - walls thin. Strangers knocking on our door looking for other people in the middle of the night. (Security)? Seriously unimpressed.
cooperation and understanding of the workers there is good. some rooms are excellent unfortunately we dont choose the rooms.
I booked in june for october. on arrival the state of the room allocated to us were not good but at least after talking to the manager we were taken to much better rooms. but as for the noise you need to do something to control it. On averege: good.
Room was clean
No shower door
The staff were friendly, courteous and efficient. The stay was comfortable and relaxing.
The hotel seemed to need a little work as there were more than just a few tiles missing from the pool area.
The price was reasonable and the location was good
There were cockroaches in the room. We were given 2 single beds that were more like water beds because they were so unstable. The pictures on the Internet were belying, the finishings are really shoddy.
Every I expected it to be. I would definitely recommend other people to your hotel.
location is good and for the star rating I suppose it is quite good value for money - porter at door was very friendly
reception looked disorganised and old fashioned. The whole place do need a bit of a revamp or a makeover then the star rating can go up
All the take away food and packaging in the lounge and and in the passages.
received a warm welcome staff was very friendly will definitely do another booking to eat out at the roof top restaurant as it was always fully booked and also for a longer stay love the area
no brochures in room about the hotel and its offers or facilities also no milk in room as I am allergic to powdered milk add some sausages or haddock to the breakfast menu for those that do not eat bacon
The view Comfortable beds Nice breakfast You can walk to the restaurants Happy hour at Top of the Ritz
The room furnishings are a bit old Top of the Ritz Restaurant was fully booked
